Unfortunately we have Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. But before we start let's get my Week 15 picks out of the way. San Diego, New Orleans, Carolina, Cleveland, Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Houston, Atlanta, Oakland, Pittsburgh, New England, Chicago.

Yuengling #1

1st Quarter

1:03 Kickoff- Giants receive the ball first and returned it to their own 30. Eagles will need to contain the rushing attack of the Jacobs and Bradshaw duo. Big game for Chaney to step up as Stewart Bradley is out.

1:05- 1st pass for Manning on 2nd and 18 and overthrew Manningham, who is surprisly playing with a hip point-flexer. And the Giants go 3 and out. Weird seeing Maclin back there returning the punt, Jackson's sprained foot is the reason though. I wouldn't be surprise if the game is tight later that you'll see DJax back there.

1:07- Vick takes the field and takes a hit from Grant and DJax drops the ball.

1:09- Awful play from Vick, the worst I've seen from him all year. Throwing on the run and across his body to throw an INT. Get the mistakes out now Vick. Eagles will need an 3 and out to avoid the FG try.

1:10- Awesome play from Fokou to sack Manning for an 18 yard loss after a Giants 1st down. And because of that Giants are force to punt 2 plays later. Defensive battle to start the game on both ends.

1:15- Eagles begin their 2nd drive. Need to move the ball to avoid the Field Position game.

1:16- My boy Shady McCoy first run of the game for a 20 yd gain. I expect him to have a huge game especially in the receiving end. Odd play there as Vick runs into the fullback but spins and at least gains 3.

1:17- Huge 3rd down play here Vick in the shotgun and pass deflected by the rookie. 1st punt for Rocca. And the returner fumbles and 3 Eagles had a chance to get it, but the Giants ended up with it.

1:21- That's what the Eagles have to do in this game. Stop the run, especially on 1st down. Giants to face another 3rd & long. Let's see if Manning makes a mistake here trying to go to Nicks. 1st down as Nicks does make the completion.

1:24- Wow, Nicks with an easy chance to put New York in scoring position drops the ball. Awesome catch by the Michigan alum for the 1st down. Giants are not getting anywhere with the run.

1:26- TD to Manningham, flag is on the play but I think it is illegal contact on Patterson. Giants 7-0.

1:34- Eagles punting again. The offense seems too tense here in the 1st quarter.

1:38- 1st good run by the Giants as Jacobs run for a 1st down.

1:39- Eagles need to stop them here on 3rd down, whereas last drive New York converted 3 of them.

1:41- Tapp deflects the ball and Mikell gets the INT. Eagles need to score here as they begin on the Giants 45. Vick runs for the 1st down and the same thing that happened last week is called for a penalty.

Yuengling #2

2nd quarter

1:45- Red zone offense has been an issue all season especially last time they played the Giants. Now they face a 3rd & 4. A stop here for the Giants I think the D will ride high in confidence throughout the game and Vick just got sacked. In come Akers. 7-3

1:51- Bradshaw getting a couple of nice runs here for the 1st down. Can't let them have the confidence going here.

1:53- Fox just put up the Time of Possession stat and the Giants have held the ball twice as long. This will keep there D fresh for the 2nd half. And Manning just completes another 3rd down to Nicks.

1:55- Michigan alum does it again, but this time with some nifty moves to make 14-3 Giants. This guy wasn't suppose to play.

2:00- Eagles need a long drive here, kill sometime have the Giants D out there for a bit. And to get a TD.

2:04- Not looking good here for the Birds. Vick gets sack by Tuck on 3rd down and Vick leaves the field limping.

2:08- Need a huge 3rd down stop here. Giants are just killing the Eagles on 3rd down. Can't let New York to score on this drive to end the half.

2:11- The turnover they needed and Patterson couldn't catch the ball for the int. And another 3rd down conversion as Manning throws a screen pass to Bradshaw.

2:21- Seeing Nate Allen go down sucks, holding his knee after it buckled after the play- doesn't look good. Hold them to a FG Birds. Bout time you stop them on 3rd down. 17-3 Giants. Need a nice return here as there is only 48 seconds left for the half with 2 timeouts remaining.

2:24- Huge turnover for the Giants right before half and they will have time for at least a couple of plays for a TD. Replay and I see it as a fumble. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Yuengling #3

2:27- It is counted as a fumble. One or two plays for the TD and as I'm writing that Manning to Nicks. 24-3 Giants.

2:31- Finally this half ends. Eagles need to come out firing next half as they are down 3 TDs. Defense needs to step up on 3rd downs.

2:45- 2nd half begins and the Birds will need to come out and get a TD. Otherwise I'm counting this game as loss. Game is over as Vick is sacked again on 3rd down.

2:51- Giants run game is stuff on 3rd down. Finally a stop for the defense. Let's go birds.

2:59- Shady getting some yardage here on this drive. Eagles need a TD to stay alive in this game.

3:00- I say this is 2 down territory. No need to grab the 15 yards all at once. Take what you can get and let's go for it on 4th down. And we go for it all and now we are punting.

3:05- Was he out of bounds? This is how we come back. It's a fumble to me. Now comes the onslaught for the Birds. Get the TD guys.

3:08- Aikman makes a great remark about this being 4 down territory. TD to Maclin. It's about time. Let's get a 3 and out D. 24-10.

3:17- All day for Manning but everyone is covered and causes a 3rd down and 10. Let get the stop here boys. Good tackle from Asante as the Giants come 1 yd. short. Eagles are still in this if they can get a TD on this drive.

3:19- DJax's first catch of the game.

4th quarter

3:23- And we begin with a false start the quarter to cause a 2nd & 13.

3:25- What a play from Thomas. That was a TD to Maclin. Great play and now the game is officially over for the Eagles.

3:30- I just love how Trent Cole gets held every single play and somehow never gets called. Giants punt here with 13 min. remaining in the game. Need a quick strike to Djax here.

3:34- Wow just wow. Andy what's to lose with a challenge at this point in the game. It's decisions like these that makes me wonder. I just can't believe that. But again Jackson- HOLD ONTO THE BALL.

3:38- Just received the text of the year from my boy Kyle after the TD to Boss- "I'm just glad my child isn't here yet to suffer through this." I am disgusted right now.

3:48- Where was this all game. after a Giants TD to Boss, Eagles came right back to make it 31-17. And a beautiful onside kick by the Birds.

3:50- Vick with just a beautiful escape and runs it inside the 10. Eagles making noise now here in the 4th.

3:54- The Eagles just pulled me back in as Vick runs in to make it 31-24. Doubt an onside kick will happen here. The D will need a 3 and out to avoid using any timeouts.

3:59- Game coming down to a 3rd down and 1 inside Eagles territory. Need the big stop here. Manning in shotgun and then pitches it to Bradshaw to make the 1st down.

4:04- 3 min. left, Eagles get the stop they needed. and will need to 88 yds to score.

I stopped because the excitement was just too crazy and I couldn't handle typing and running around like a jackass when Maclin tied the game. Unbelievable finish for the Birds in their first game in the new stadium. They are calling it "The Miracle at New Meadowlands". Honestly though the Giants D relaxed after the Boss TD that made it 31-10 game with 8 min. left. Because of that Vick just took over. I had no idea what they were thinking on the onside play. Special teams failed this game for the Giants. As the Eagles magic number to clinch the division is 1. Let's hope the Bears falter tonight and then the Eagles will control their own destiny for the #2 seed.
koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-35112032437173170122010-12-07T09:14:00.000-08:002010-12-12T08:41:46.737-08:00NFL Week 14Indianapolis (6-6) 28 @ Tennessee (5-7) 13
When was the last time anyone said this is a must win game for the Colts to even think about the playoffs this late into the season? Playoffs? I can hear Jim Mora now. They only way they get in is to win the division (same goes for San Diego). No one is catching up to the Ravens and Jets in the wilcard. Manning obviously has been bothered by not having his safety net Dallas Clark in. Since his season ending injury (6 games) Manning has thrown 13 picks (11 in his last four alone). Clark is such an essential part for that offense and it shows. They are 2-4 since he went out. Tennessee is winless since the Moss trade. Chris Johnson has been non existent. I remember thinking that the Moss trade would've open thing up even more for Johnson. I'm going with Manning over Collins in this one.

Cleveland (5-7) 13 @ Buffalo (2-10) 6
Tough pick of the week. Cleveland's D played one hell of a game last week in Miami. Picking off Henne 3 times. Buffalo got innihilated in Minnesota. Jake Delhoumme starts for the Browns and is awful. This is going to be a battle between Fred Jackson and Peyton Hillis. Whoever holds onto the ball wins this one.

Cincinnati (2-10) 17 @ Pittsburgh (9-3) 27
What a play for the Polomalu last week to change the course of the game in Maryland last week to control the division lead with 4 left to play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX9xDiubH8E. The Bengals always play the Steelers tough. The Steelers dominated the last game but then let the Bengals make a game out of it in the 4th.

Green Bay (8-4) 34 @ Detroit (2-10) 24
This is a huge game for the Pack as they are on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Their schedule doesn't get any easier than this game here. The next 3 games for them are @NE, NYG, CHI. Detroit will love nothing more than to play spoiler here.

New York Giants (8-4) 24 @ Minnesota (5-7) 17
There are two teams no one wants to face right now and the NFC East leaders are facing both of them. The Giants visit the Vikings who are 2-0 under couch Frazier. Favre was injured last game and no surprise that he was intercepted on the play. Jackson came in and the Vikes exploded for 38 points on the Bills, and Tavaris even threw 3 picks. Will the streak finally come to an end for Favre? Even if he does start, he'll get knocked out anyway. The Giant's D has been playing well lately. Their rookie Jason Pierre-Paul has been playing out of his mind lately with 2 sacks in each of his last two games. Along with many QB pressures and hurries.

Tampa Bay (7-5) 24 @ Washington (5-7) 16
Tampa Bay 7-0 against teams under .500 and 0-5 against winning teams. The Skins' I think will win this game, but I'm still going with the safe bet here and picking the Buccaneers.

Atlanta (10-2) 31 @ Carolina (1-11) 10
The only way the Falcons lose this game is if they go in overconfident. Which is a possiblity but I don't see it.

Oakland (6-6) 17 @ Jacksonville (7-5) 20
The Colts become the biggest Raider fans this week as they hope for a Jaguer loss here before their battle for 1st place next week in Indianapolis. If the Raiders do win I believe they will be 1 game back from the division lead in the AFC west. But usually when the Raiders play an awesome game they throw a stinker in the next.

Seattle (6-6) 24 @ San Francisco (4-8) 27
A must win game for the Niners and with a Rams loss this week also, they will only be 1 game back for this disiaster of a division. I'm still sticking with them to win it.

St. Louis (6-6) 13 @ New Orleans (9-3) 31
Saints need to win here to keep up with their division foe the Falcons.

Miami (6-6) 13 @ New York Jets (9-3) 17
What an ugly display of football last week by both these teams. Henne throwing the game away with an INT inside the 20 of his own zone with 54 seconds to set up the GW field goal for the Browns. The Jets with all their brash talk didn't even show up in New England. They are going to be in pissed off mood when they take the field against the 'Fins.

Denver (3-9) 17 @ Arizona (3-9) 6
Arizona has given up this season. Denver still plays hard.

Kansas City (8-4) 6 @ San Diego (6-6) 28
Brodie Croyle is 0-9 as a starter and this is a must win for the Superchargers.

New England (10-2) 17 @ Chicago (9-3) 13
Game of the Week. It's going to be an interesting matchup here in the snow with Tom Brady against this Defense. We all know Brady loves playing in the snow and seems to play his best in the powder.

Philadelpha (8-4) 37 @ Dallas (4-8) 27
Doesn't matter that this is a lost season for the Cowboys. The Birds are still fuming over last year and will need a win here to keep their bye hopes alive.

Baltimore (8-4) 24 @ Houston (5-7) 17
This is a must win for the Texans but I think a pissed off Raven team is too much.

Last week: 12-4

Season: 127-65koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-23796700639742607172010-12-01T07:44:00.000-08:002010-12-03T12:04:50.434-08:00NFL Week 13 PicksHouston (5-6) 27 @ Philadelphia (7-4) 38
The AFC South is becoming the most interesting division this year. Houston avoided from being in last place last week by shutting out Tennessee, but both teams are only out of it by 1 game. While the Jags and Colts sit atop with a 6-5 record. As for Philadelphia they lost their 1 game lead to the Giants, as the Jags didn't do them any favors against them last week. Tough defeat to take last week against the Bears. But what kept the Giants in the game 2 weeks ago is what doomed the Birds last week. They need to score Touchdowns when they get into the Red Zone, something the Bears did in their victory. Asante Samuel should be back for this Thursday nighter, and oh boy do the Eagles need him as Andre Johnson comes to town. I gotta say that was the best football fight I have ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBT6MygnKKw&feature=related. If Andre wasn't a football player, he would have been a damn good boxer. This game is going to be a dog fight because you can say that this is a must win for both teams. With one of the league's worst Defenses, expect huge numbers from the Eagles. The only problem is that Houston can answer right back.

Washington (5-6) 13 @ New York Giants (7-4) 17
Can McNabb do the Eagles a favor and please beat the GMen in this NFC East battle. The Giants hung in the all game last week with the Jags and were able to come out on top. Washington will be out of the division race with a loss here, so don't sleep on them this week. Both teams are hurting, which will make this a very interesting matchup.

Denver (3-8) 24 @ Kansas City (7-4) 31
You think Haley had this date circled after the 49-29 whooping in Denver a couple of weeks ago. Bowe has just been unbelievable this past month, will it continue in December?

Jacksonville (6-5) 24 @ Tennessee (5-6) 13
You know if Houston wins Thursday night and the Tennessee and Dallas win on Sunday- this all division will be tied at 6-6 with 4 weeks to play. It appears that Penn State alum, Kerry Collins, is back and will at least have the Titans score- unlike last week. Jacksonville's Garrard has either been hot or cold this season. Nothing in the middle for him. Tennessee is 0-3 since the "no risk" Randy Moss trade. Do you still think this is "No Risk" Mr. Fischer? Jacksonville looked lifeless in their Monday Night game at home against the Titans earlier in the season. But I see the Jags coming back from that in this one.

San Francisco (4-7) 10 @ Green Bay (7-4) 24
Green Bay has been losing close games all season. All 4 have been by 3 points and two of those games went into OT. San Francisco kept their NFC West title chances alive with their dominating performance in Arizona. Unfortunately they lost Gore for the season (bad for the Heines as the playoffs start next week in fantasy), but they do have my main man outside of Philly Brian Westbrook. Boy did he looked good on Monday filling in for Gore. Green Bay should be able to handle the Niners in this one.

Cleveland (4-7) 17 @ Miami (6-5) 20
Chad Henne surprised me last week by playing in Oakland and also performing well. Now they get to face a team no one wants to face in the Browns. The highlight of the week last week comes courtesy of Peyton Hillis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI1RipTlCYc, just straight TRUCKED Godfrey (I wonder if Hillis will get fined for that hit). I like the Browns in this one, but with the 'Fins home I'm going with them.

Buffalo (2-9) 13 @ Minnesota (4-7) 20
Tough break for the Bills last week in Buffalo. The game was in Stevie Johnson's hands and it slipped away. Minnesota won Leslie Frazier's first game as coach in Washington last week. He actually did what a good coach will do and that is to USE Adrian Peterson till he gets hurt, which unfortunately he did and might be out in this contest. They do have a promising rookie in Gerheart though who will carry the load if Peterson is unfit. Either way I see the Vikings winning this one.

Chicago (8-3) 27 @ Detroit (2-9) 17
That was a huge victory for the Bears last week, as the Falcons did them the favor of beating their nemesis to gain complete control of the NFC North. And it also puts the Eagles 2 games back on them for the bye (even though it is really 1 game, the Bears hold the tiebreaker) with 5 left to play. Detroit will be going with Drew Stanton as their QB this week which tells me all I need to know about this game.

New Orleans (8-3) 31 @ Cincinnati (2-9) 16
The Saints got lucky last week as Roy Williams gave them the game. Don't be surprise if the Bengals win this one.

Oakland (5-6) 10 @ San Diego (6-5) 31
This is a must win for the Raiders to keep their playoff hopes alive, but this is a tall task as the Chargers are the hottest team in the league right now. They just man handled Manning last week in Indianapolis. They are 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Colts but I decided to go with a pissed off primetime Manning instead of the Charger dominance of the Colts last week. Oakland appears to be in a free fall and will need to get out of it fast. They will need game changing turnovers in this one just as they had in their previous matchup to win.

Carolina (1-10) 10 @ Seattle (5-6) 20
Speaking of free falls, Seattle has lost 4 of their last 5 (the one victory being the lowly Cardinals). Carolina has been lost all season and with the Qwest field crowd knowing the 'Hawks need victory will be going nuts in this uneventful game. Taking the 12th man in this one.

Atlanta (9-2) 27 @ Tampa Bay (7-4) 24
Tampa hung in there with Atlanta last time they played. They actually had the ball for a Game wining drive but an interception by Freeman sealed the win for the Falcons. Atlanta will look for a win to keep the Saints in their rear view mirror. Not a must win for the Dirty Birds, but you can say that this is must for the Buccaneers. A victory here and then we can take the Bucs seriously the rest of the way. Another defeat will just say that they are the best inferior team in the NFL.

St. Louis (5-6) 34 @ Arizona (3-7) 13
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jErsW7rgHBs. Need I say more.

Dallas (3-8) 17 @ Indianapolis (6-5) 28
This is the tough pick of the week. Can the Colts possibly loss 3 in a row? Can Dallas rebound from a game they should have won? Manning has been looking less than human these past couple of weeks, but I just can't see him losing 3 in row.

Pittsburgh (8-3) 20 @ Baltimore (8-3) 17
Game of the Week #2. How many fines will be handed out after this game? The Ravens got a lil lucky last time they played. The Steelers got lucky last week. Big Ben is playing hurt with a sprained foot, but will be playing. The Ravens got a scare last week with Oher going down, but he practice in full yesterday. As for their fullback Maclain, I don't see him playing but don't count him out just yet. I'm rolling with the guy who is 5-0 against the Ravens in his last 5 starts. What's crazy about this game along with the Jets and Patriots, the winner will likely get the the all important bye while the loser will most likely enter the playoffs as #5 or #6 seed.

New York Jets (9-2) 24 @ New England (9-2) 21
Game of the Week #1. These two teams hate each other, which makes for great football. The Patriots will look to continue and break the NFL record for Tom Brady with the longest regular season winning streak by a NFL QB. Brady is tied with Favre right now with 25 straight. The Jets have a 8 road game winning streak going for them. One of them will break. I'm going with the local team and picking the J-E-T-S to have them control their own destiny for the #1 seed in the AFC.

Last Week: 12-4

Season: 115-61koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-60977893966566141222010-11-24T11:27:00.001-08:002010-11-25T07:56:32.666-08:00Week 12 PicksTook a much needed bye week last week. Jen and I moved again, this time to a 2 bedroom apartment in the same complex. Jen also had the baby shower this past weekend and I will like to thank everyone for all the great stuff the lil one and her proud parents will enjoy. A special thank you to Jen's sister Tammy for organizing the party.

Last week ended up with a 14-2 record, but it still was not enough to win the office pool. Although I was in it on Monday night, I had too many points for the tiebreaker. At least I moved up in the overall standings as I am one behind the leader. Enough of that let's get to the picks of week 12.

New England (8-2) 34 @ Detroit (2-8) 21
The annual Turkey day in Detroit. This year the Lions face Tom Brady and the Pats. The Lions will have one thing going for them in this game and that is their awesome throwback unis. Detroit has loss 6 straight games on Thanksgiving, ironically their last victory was in '03 against the New England Patriots. I think the Patriots continues the losing streak for the Lions on Turkey Day.

New Orleans (7-3) 27 @ Dallas (3-7) 17
I know Fox had their chops licking in the beginning of the season having this game on Thanksgiving. Then the 'Boys crapped out to start the season making this game less appealing. But in the past 2 weeks the Cowboys are undefeated under their new coach. Will that continue against the resurgent Saints? On a side note I will like to give a huge FU to Sean Payton and Drew Brees for causing a crushing defeat in my fantasy last week. The Saints were up 34-19 with 36 seconds left and were inside the 20 on a 4th & 6, Brees dropped back to pass for a touchdown and threw an interception to the one DB I was facing causing a one point defeat. It also cost my team high score for the week ($75) and now the team that beat us has the tiebreaker for the playoffs. I actually wouldn't be surprise if the Cowboys walk away with a victory. The football gods frown upon on running up the score.

Cincinnati (2-8) 9 @ New York Jets (8-2) 20
The Bengals are a hot mess right now, letting the Bills come back and score 5 Tds in the 2nd half. Just a disgrace. The Jets aren't winning perfectly but they are winning. In the last 3 games alone- Santonio Holmes has either scored or set up the Game Winning score. Him and Sanchez have been really fun to watch these past couple of weeks. The Jets fans have at least lost a year of their lives due to the high stress level their team has played. T.O. is an idiot. First off after the game last week he just kept saying embarrassment (had every right to) but also stated that he doesn't have a sound byte. T.O. THAT IS A SOUND BYTE you dope. And now he is calling out Revis by saying he is an average player. Umm didn't they faced each other twice last season. Owens stats for the two games were 6 rec for 44 yards. Just keep talking Owens.

Green Bay (7-3) 21 @ Atlanta (8-2) 24
The Game of the Week is in Hotlanta. The Packers D has been playing phenomenal has of late. Holding their last three opponents to 10 points (Jets-0, Cowboys-7, Vikings-3). The Falcons though are a different story. I have been saying that the Falcons are the best team in the NFC now and this game will most certainly prove that. A Green Bay victory will be huge for them as they will hold the tiebreaker with both Atlanta and Philadelphia. But as the new rule in the gambling manifesto is to never bet against Matty Ice at home, Dirty Birds in this one.

Pittsburgh (7-3) 31 @ Buffalo (2-8) 17
Well the Bills lil winning streak was fun while it lasted. The Steelers are coming off a monster game against the Raiders and will be looking to continue that ass whooping mentality in Buffalo this week.

Carolina (1-9) 6 @ Cleveland (3-7) 13
What's up with Cleveland QBs and their ankles. Colt McCoy injured his ankle to become the 3rd QB to do so in Cleveland. And because of that Jake Delhoumme gets the start for the Browns. I just can't select the Panthers in this one, they are just a bad football team this year.

Jacksonville (6-4) 13 @ New York Giants (6-4) 17
The gift that just keeps on giving. Eli Manning fumbling AGAIN (he also did last year against the Eagles) going head first instead of sliding. The turnovers (30 in all) are finally catching up to them. The Jags are riding the hot hand lately but I don't see it continuing in Jersey. The Giants D will win this game for them. Eli will need to carry the offense in this one and with a depleted O-line and receiving core.

Minnesota (3-7) 24 @ Washington (5-5) 17
Not picking the 'Skins last week is what doomed me from winning the office pool. I should have known McNabb will bounce back as he always does after a horrific performance. The Vikings fired Childress over the week but are still going with the old man as their QB. Please put in Jackson Frazier. I see the Vikings players playing hard in this one just like the 'Boys did when Phillips was fired. Washington is too beat up on the Defensive side of the ball and that is what is going to hurt them in this contest.

Tennessee (5-5) 10 @ Houston (4-6) 27
Add the Titans to the long list of drama teams this season. I thought Houston was going to be a different team this year, but as always they can't close it out when needed. I'm going with the more experienced QB in this one.

Kansas City (6-4) 20 @ Seattle (5-5) 17
The battle of the West division leaders. Hasselbeck has been playing well lately and being at home will definitely have an advantage on the Chiefs. But I still like KC in this one.

Miami (5-5) 13 @ Oakland (5-5) 21
Thigpen just looked lost all game against the Bears last week and the 'Fins running game has been lost all season. The Raiders will bounce back with a strong running performance from McFadden.

St. Louis (4-6) 10 @ Denver (3-7) 20
The toughest game to pick this week. The Broncos will need to win sometime and I think this is their best chance. The only reason why for the pick is because they are at home.

Philadelphia (7-3) 24 @ Chicago (7-3) 17
Along with Atlanta and Green Bay, this is an important game for the NFC playoff picture. Vick actually looked human last week against a tough Giants D. The Bears definitely studied that game film and will try to replicate what they did. The Eagles though need to score Touchdowns when they get turnovers. Scoring only FG's kept the Giants in the game last week. Vick is on the cover of SI this week, which I gotta say irks me because of the all jinx thing. This should be an interesting matchup but of course I see the Birds coming out on top.

Tampa Bay (7-3) 10 @ Baltimore (7-3) 24
Josh Freeman will be tested in this one. Tampa had been winning games but they have been against inferior opponents. Now they will come into Maryland to face one of the toughest teams in the NFL. I think the Ravens are too much to handle for the Bucs in this one as they begin to fall back down to Earth.

San Diego (5-5) 21 @ Indianapolis (6-4) 34
Never bet against Peyton in primetime and especially after a loss he gave away himself. Pissed off Manning is not a guy you want to mess with.

San Francisco (3-7) 24 @ Arizona (3-7) 13
With Seattle losing this week, the victor of this game will be 1 game back in the division. Crazy that one of these teams from the NFC west is making the playoffs.

And to wrap up this weeks blog I will like to give some random thanks for the holiday.

First off I will like to thank my beautiful fiance for everything she has done for me. You are an amazing person Jen and you will be a more amazing mother.

To my family and friends, I don't know where I will be if it weren't for the love and support I get from y'all. Thank you.

Last but not least to the Veterans who fought and are fighting for freedom across the globe. This is something that the average American takes for granted not knowing the sacrifices made by the Brave. Thank you all.

Last week: 14-2

Season: 103-57koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-8864793513059301302010-11-10T08:18:00.000-08:002010-11-11T20:00:16.919-08:00NFL Week 10Baltimore (6-2) 17 @ Atlanta (6-2) 20
The Game of the Week here. Let the Thursday games begin. I hate these games for the simple fact that I got to hand my picks in earlier than usual. Possibly the best teams in their respected conferences face off in the Georgia Dome. The battle between the 2008 QB rookies, who are the only two NFL QB rookies to win a playoff game. This could also be a preview for the Super Bowl. Michael Turner has been hot as of late and the Falcons will need that to continue here. Same goes for Rutgers Alum Ray Rice for the Ravens. There is a new rule in the gambling book and that is never bet against Matty Ice at home.

Detroit (2-6) 21 @ Buffalo (0-8) 24
Is this the week Buffalo finally gets a win? Has Stafford's entire contract money gone to his doctor who keeps repairing his shoulder? Tough break for the young fellow who will most likely be out for the rest of this season. Word is that this tear is worse than the one earlier in the season. Shaun Hill is still hurting but might be able to play. I'm doubting that he will. That means Drew Stanton will get the start. The deck has been dealt for the Bills for their first victory this season.

Minnesota (3-5) 27 @ Chicago (5-3) 17
With Green Bay on their bye, this is the week for Minnesota to pull within two games of the division lead. I'm tired of the praising of Brett Favre for his 446 yd career day. That game shouldn't have been that close first of all and the reason why it was that close was because of Favre. I honestly believe that Jackson gives this team the better chance to win. Pull the trigger on the old man Childress and show some guts in that locker room. But we all know that is not going to happen. This game could possibly be a record for most interceptions thrown.

New York Jets (6-2) 34 @ Cleveland (3-5) 17
What a game played by the Browns last week. The Mangenius beating Belichick must have felt good. Now he will face his old team this week. And not only that the Ryan brothers will be facing each other. Classic press conference by Rex yesterday dressing up like his brother. Colt McCoy looks like he is the guy of the future for Cleveland. Maybe he is the one and not LeBron to bring a championship to a city desperately need of one in whatever sport. I think with such a close call in Detroit last week, Rex is calling for an ass whooping. I think his players will respond.

Cincinnati (2-6) 20 @ Indianapolis (5-3) 23
Gotta say, Manning had me worry a lil bit at the end of the Birds game last week. Its a rarity when his squad loses two in a row. As for Cincy, it only seems that T.O. is the only one showing up on offense these days. They did fought back last week against Pittsburgh but fell short in the end. The Bengals just don't have it this year.

Tennessee (5-3) 28 @ Miami (4-4) 24
Chad Henne take a seat. Chad Pennington has been given the chance to start since his shoulder injury last year. Miami is a good team this year but are not beating teams that are better than them. Tennessee is one of those teams. Interested to see what they have for store in Randy Moss and how much will Chris Johnson's game open up because of it. It's still up in the air if Young is starting or not. Either way I like the Titans in this one.

Carolina (1-7) 6 @ Tampa Bay (5-3) 31
Josh Freeman is human in the 4th quarter after all. Amazing how Tampa is playing this year and after a tough loss in Atlanta, the Panthers are the right remedy to get their confidence back on track. Clausen gets the start in this one as Matt Moore was put on the injured reserve list.

Houston (4-4) 34 @ Jacksonville (4-4) 24
The battle of staying out of last place in the AFC South. Houston has been an up and down team all year, actually the past couple of years. The Jags are coming of their bye while the Texans are coming off a crushing defeat against a depleted Charger team. It was a tough break as Houston was driving down the field for the go ahead TD and a pass intended for Andre Johnson was in his hands but fell out and ricochet off his leg to a Charger defender to seal the game. Jacksonville will need to contain Arian Foster to be in this one.

Kansas City (5-3) 24 @ Denver (2-6) 14
The Chiefs need a victory here to keep the division lead. Denver just needs a win period. Dwayne Bowe has been playing great as of late, but when it came down to it last week he didn't catch the most important ball thrown to him to seal the game in Oakland. I can actually see the Broncos winning this game but I think the running game of KC is going to be too much for them.

Dallas (1-7) 13 @ New York Giants (6-2) 31
I can't believe I will be pulling for the Cowboys in this one. Actually I kinda want them to win a few more games (just not against the Birds) to avoid the 1st pick overall in next year's draft. The Giants are probably the hottest team in the NFL right now. The only question in this game is whether or not the Cowboys actually show up. I think Giant fans wanted that Wade Phillips firing a week later.

Seattle (4-4) 13 @ Arizona (3-5) 20
NFC West matchup. Picking the home team.

St. Louis (4-4) 17 @ San Francisco (2-6) 27
NFC West matchup. Picking the home team. It's amazing how it is possible the 49ers can be 1 game back at the end of the day on Sunday. Troy Smith should get the start and also should be the starter for the rest of the year. It really hurt writing that sentence. But let's face it he is better than the two #1 overall picks on their roster.

New England (6-2) 13 @ Pittsburgh (6-2) 17
Four 6-2 teams in the AFC and one of them at least will drop to 3 losses. New England's defense just got expose in Cleveland. Normally I wouldn't pick against them because Brady just doesn't lose games back to back. But this is big task for them to win at Pittsburgh.

Philadelphia (5-3) 28 @ Washington (4-4) 10
The annual Monday Night Football between these two teams. Finally get to see the much anticipated McNabb vs. Vick hopefully for the all game. Philadelphia dominated the Colts last week but weren't able to throw the Knockout punch as they had to settle for FGs three times when they were inside the 10. They had to fight til the end for the victory. The 'Skins are coming off their bye. McNabb did just enough to win the game that was played in Philadelphia. I don't think that is happening in this one though.

Byes

Green Bay- Who are they pulling for in the Minnesota vs. Chicago game?

Oakland- Rest is much needed, but I don't think the Raiders want it with the way they have been playing.

New Orleans- Ready to start looking like the Saints for the the 2nd half.

San Diego- No other team needs this bye as much as the Chargers do.

Last Week- 10-3

Season- 82-48koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-52507779583924710092010-11-04T07:40:00.001-07:002010-11-05T09:55:07.338-07:00NFL Week 9 PicksTampa Bay (5-2) 17 @ Atlanta (5-2) 28
Who would've thought that this game will be a battle for the division lead this late in the season. Atlanta is coming off the bye, whereas Tampa is coming off another exciting finish. Josh Freeman has 6 (out of 8 wins) comeback victories in his short career of 16 games. That's a pretty amazing stat that shows how mentally tough of a kid he is. The highlight of the week comes from the courtesy of rookie LeGarrate Blount. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAdE16pIbNQ If that name sounds familiar it's because he is the Oregon Duck who got suspended for sucker punching a Boise State player in the face after the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU4WR2pB-tQ&feature=related. Matt Ryan has a near perfect record at home of 16-1. Hotlanta fans definitely get their money's worth with him under center. Because of that record I'm picking Atlanta to win here and ground the Bucs back to Earth.

Chicago (4-3) 10 @ Buffalo (0-7) 13 {Game being played in Toronto}
The Bills have been fighting to the end in the past couple weeks. Played 5 quarters in KC last week and another OT game in Baltimore 2 weeks ago. Are they going to be gassed out? Meanwhile the Bears are coming off a much needed bye. Hopefully Martz has come up with something to protect Cutler and to get Forte the ball more. I would definitely pick the Bills if this game was being played in their own confides of Ralph Wilson Stadium with confidence. But I am unsure of how this one is going to played out in Toronto. In the end, I think the Bills get their first victory of the season by putting pressure on Cutler and forcing him to make mistakes.

New England (6-1) 38 @ Cleveland (2-5) 17
The Master and Apprentice at it again. I think the bye came to Cleveland when they didn't want it. They were on fire against the Saints the other week and I loved the fake punt call. That tells your team we are here to win this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKNbbY_Mbrs&feature=related. New England is a different story and Tom Brady won't throw 4 Ints like Brees did in that game.

New York Jets (5-2) 27 @ Detroit (2-5) 17
The Jets offense was just horrible last week against the Pack. And that 4th and 18 fake punt call- I gotta say I love the guts and trust in the D to do that. For a second I thought Weatherford got to the first down marker, but unfortunately the Packers challenge and the his foot went out of bounds inches away for the 1st down. Megatron, Calvin Johnson, just ripped it up last week against the 'Skins with a bum shoulder. 9 catches for 101 yds and 3tds. This week will be a lot tougher for him as Revis Island is healthy and mix that with a bum shoulder, he just might be contain this week.

New Orleans (5-3) 31 @ Carolina (1-6) 13
Are they Saints finally over their Super Bowl hangover? A nice win against the Steelers on Halloween night, as the New Orleans crowd set a Guinness Book of Record with the most people in one building in costume. I thought Carolina was going to win last week in St. Louis to ride the confidence wave from their victory against the 'Niners. They are just a bad team and the Saints will handle them as they will ride the confidence the wave for a while as their schedule is cake after their bye. Seattle, @ Dallas (on Thanksgiving), @ Cincy, St. Louis. I don't see them losing any of these games, but then again I didn't think they would've lost to the Browns.

Miami (4-3) 22 @ Baltimore (5-2) 24
Nice bye for Baltimore as the Steeler loss put them back into first place in their division. Miami is 4-0 on the road and 0-3 at home. This will be a tough road game for the Fins, but they can still pull it out. This is more of a must win for the Fins- for them to keep pace with Jets and Pats. They will come out a fighting, but the Ravens always welcome one- especially in their house.

San Diego (3-5) 31 @ Houston (4-3) 38
Two of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (along with the Seahawks) teams in the NFL face off each other. You just don't know which team will show up with these two. This game should light up the scoreboard, and I have the feeling of whoever has the ball last is going to win this one.

Arizona (3-4) 17 @ Minnesota (2-5) 21
Way to waste a 3rd round draft pick Vikings. Pats fans are in glee right now as they rob another draft pick. Word is Moss ranted about a Mom & Pop restaurant and the team was embarrass by his actions, thus being the main reason for waiving him. You think Wisenhunt regrets letting go of Leinhert? How much worse can he be than Derek Anderson and Max Hall? I also wonder if the Vikings will have a better record with Jackson under center this year. And where has Mullet Head Jared Allen been all season? Minnesota is a mess right now, but so is 'Zona. I just think the Vikings are to talented of a team to lose to the Cardinals at home.

New York Giants (5-2) 17 @ Seattle (4-3) 6
11 is the number of false starts the Gmen had during their last trip to Seattle. 4-6 is their week after the bye record in the past 1o years. 1981 is the last time the Giants actually won a game in Seattle. Take into account the fact the Seahawks were an AFC West team and these two hardly played in the 80s and early 90s. The 'Hawks are undefeated at home this year. Can the 12th man be an effect to the opposing team here. Giving the fact that when the words Super Bowl and Giants get into the same sentence during the season they tend to fall. I think the front seven causes havoc on Hasselbeck and the Giants get their first victory in Seattle in nearly 30 years. If Seattle has any chance in this one it will be because of Special Teams. Charlie Whitehurst getting the starting nod due to a concussion Hasslbeck sustain last week in Oakland. The front 7 will really have a field day now.

Indianapolis (5-2) 24 @ Philadelphia (4-3) 28
11-0 is the record for Andy Reid coming back after a bye. Unfortunately he doesn't have a perfect record given 2 weeks to prepare, as he lost the biggest game of them all in the '04 Super Bowl. 2 weeks is exactly what the Birds need to prepare for Peyton Manning. The Colts just man handled their division foes on Monday night. Meanwhile Michael Vick takes back the starting job for the Eagles. He stated earlier this week that he will have to run smarter. How will this reflect his game? DeSean Jackson has been practicing the past two days and was cleared from the 3rd party neurologist. So I'm thinking he is in, but will not return punts and probably won't be going over the middle of the field that often. Reid's after the bye record stays perfect in this one.

Kansas City (5-2) 24 @ Oakland (4-4) 31
The game of the week, as the two rushing powerhouses face off. Can Oakland close the gap on the Chiefs or is Kansas City going to widen it a little bit more. Whoever stops the run is going to be the victor in this game. Oakland has surpassed the 500 yd mark in each of its past two games for the first time in history. KC played a hard fought game against Buffalo that took a FG to win it as time expired in OT. I'm riding the hot hand in this one and picking Da Raiders to inch closer to the division lead.

Dallas (1-6) 20 @ Green Bay (5-3) 41
Roy Williams has to have the quote of the week. "We can go nine in a row, if you ask me. People can call me stupid or whatever, but this football team has the core of players, it has the supporting cast of players to win nine in row. We just got to get it started just for other players to be like, 'All right, we got it now.' It would be a great storybook ending. It would be awesome. I don't know if they'd put us in the Hall of Fame for that if this [team] was going to go on and win the Super Bowl, but it's a tough feat to cross. But if there is any team in the league that can do it, it's the Dallas Cowboys." How delusional is he. This team is playing with no heart, no spark, and worst of all no intelligence. By this quote Green Bay should watch out because the Cowboys are going to finally start their season. The Packers won a gut it out win in the Meadowlands against Gang Green. I think the offense is itching to find the end zone in this one and what better way to show how good of an offense they are then on Sunday Night Football.

Pittsburgh (5-2) 17 @ Cincinnati (2-5) 10
A must win for the Bengals in this one. Looked like the Steelers were going to pull that one out last Sunday but then Heath Miller fumbles the ball. Just a tough break, but hey that's football- sometimes the ball just bounces the other way. Cincinnati did a good job keeping the 'Fins out of the end zone, but were shut down in the 2nd half. I don't see the Steelers losing 2 in a row, especially in back to back national televise games.

Byes

Denver (2-6)- Denver is just hoping that this is just the opposite of last season. Meaning they will end with a 6 game winning streak instead of starting out with one.

Tennessee (5-3)- Just sitting back and relaxing this week becoming Eagles fans for the week. Oh and gives Moss an extra week to get used his 3rd playbook this season.

St. Louis (4-4)- One of the bright surprises this year. Can they come back and win the Wild Weak West. It's possible.

San Francisco (2-6)- Both the Rams and Niners will be New York football Giant fans this week. Now with baseball over, the Niners better improve their play as all eyes are on them in San Fran.

Washington (4-4)- I still can't grasp the idea of putting in Rex in that situation. Now the question is Where will McNabb be under center next year? My bet is Arizona.

Jacksonville (4-4)- Garrard saved his job with that performance in Dallas.

Last Week: 9-4

Season: 72-45koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-10558801048301207082010-10-27T08:50:00.000-07:002010-10-31T09:16:22.831-07:00NFL Week 8Washington (4-3) 23 @ Detroit (1-5) 30
I hope the 'Skins, or maybe just DeAngelo Hall, got Cutler something real nice this past week for giving them the game. The Lions are coming off their bye and have their starting QB coming back, who has been out since Week 1. DeAngelo will have his hands full covering Calvin Johnson this week. I see the Lions coming out with a victory this week.

Jacksonville 20 (3-4) @ Dallas (1-5) 27
As if the Cowboys season couldn't get any worse it does as Tony Romo received a punishing drive to the turf courtesy of Michael Boley. Their defense looks lost as the Gmen racked up 497 yards. Jacksonville's defense is also looking lost giving up 65 points in the past two games. It is always a fun game to watch when two teams are in a free fall. I don't see Dallas losing this game even with Kitna at QB.

Miami (3-3) 24 @ Cincinnati (2-4) 20
Wow did the Fins get robbed or what last week. Just crazy what happened there in the 4th quarter. This is a must win for the Bengals to keep there season alive. They made a nice comeback last week in Atlanta but fell short. The Fins played the Steelers tough but lost mainly because they couldn't get the ball in the endzone and settled for FGs.

Buffalo (0-6) 27 @ Kansas City (4-2) 34
KC has been a nice surprise this season. Buffalo has been playing a lot better with Fitzpatrick as QB. They came oh so close beating the Ravens last week. With Dwayne Bowe finally catching the ball the KC offense looks dangerous now.

Carolina (1-5) 20 @ St. Louis (3-4) 17
Johnathan Stewart gets the starting role in this game as DeAngelo Williams is out with a foot injury. Stewart has performed well, averaging 150 yards per game, in his 3 starts. St. Louis is coming off a tough loss in Tampa Bay. I think the Panthers come out with a victory here as last week's victory is a confidence builder and will continue.

Green Bay (4-3) 24 @ New York Jets (5-1) 31
You think the Jets are getting tired of hearing the the Steelers are the best team in football. New York is coming off their bye and Green Bay is coming in with 6 days rest as they had to eek out a victory against the Vikings on Monday night. I'm going with the team with 2 weeks off.

Denver (2-5) 14 @ San Francisco (1-6) 24 {Game being played in England}
I don't think it's fair that the Niners have to give up a home game, even though they will probably make more money in Wembley than at Candlestick. The Niners are coming off a brutal loss against the Panthers last week, but not as brutal as the Broncos loss last week. 59 points given up to an Oakland Raider team (a record by the way for the Raiders). That is just inexcusable and I don't see how you can rebound from a loss like that.

Tennessee (5-2) 24 @ San Diego (2-5) 28
Tennessee's Kenny Britt just put a one man wrecking crew show against the Eagles in the 4th quarter last week. San Diego almost made a nice comeback but missed a 50 yard FG by hitting the post. How happy is LT for the Chargers not wanting him now. The Titans are playing well as anyone right now as the Chargers are just giving games away. 2 horrific turnovers against a Patriot team is not going to win games. The Chargers should get a boost with Vincent Jackson coming back, but I don't know when he will be ready for games.

Tampa Bay (4-2) 17 @ Arizona (3-3) 13
I gotta say, I love the confidence Irvington native Maurice Morris gives his team. This past week he stated the the Bucs are the best team in the NFC. Though I highly disagree with that, but you have to love faith he has in his players to say something like that. I'm liking Josh Freeman, beautiful drive last week to end the game against the Rams. The Cards are in trouble and will continue to be.

Minnesota (2-4) 17 @ New England (5-1) 34
Brett Favre to start but probably won't finish. Please all this just to keep the streak going, are you kidding me. I believe Jackson gives the Vikings the best chance to win here, but as long as Brett is under center and tossing balls to the other team the Vikings are going anywhere with that talent. New England just amaze me on how fundamentally sound they are as a football team.

Seattle (4-2) 13 @ Oakland (3-4) 24
The Seahawks being at 4-2 surprises the hell out of me. Will Oakland continue where they left off last week. It's Halloween and I'm going with the crowd that always dresses up as if it is Halloween every Sunday. The Hawks will get eaten up in the Black Hole.

Pittsburgh (5-1) 27 @ New Orleans (4-3) 16
This is a tricky game to pick. The Saints are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Browns last week. While the Steelers are coming off a victory against the Fins. Drew Brees will not throw 4 Ints in this game and will play a lot better than last week. But I don't think the Saints D can stop the Steelers whereas the Steel Curtain can hold the Saints to FGs and not TDs.

Houston (4-2) 28 @ Indianapolis (4-2) 31
One thing I hope in this game is that the Texans hurt a bruised the Colts up, since the Colts are coming to Philly next Sunday. Who will stay close to the Titans after this one? One theory I have is to never bet against Peyton Manning in primetime and that is the reason why I'm picking the Colts.

Byes

Atlanta- Will they get a boost this week from a New Orleans lost?

Chicago- A week where Cutler doesn't get sack.

Cleveland- Do they really want this week off after a victory like that?

New York Giants- Will they continue the hot hand when they get back to work?

Philadelphia- Need the 2 weeks off, just to prepare for Peyton Manning next week.

Baltimore- Will they get a boost this week from a Steeler lost?

koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-65096335182524179382010-10-20T08:53:00.000-07:002010-10-24T07:50:52.881-07:00NFL Week 7Douchebag of the week is Jerome Harrison. Mulling retirement because the NFL wised up and threatened players larger fines and even suspensions for vicious hits. Are you kidding me, you do not have to change the way you play fool- just be conscious of the penalty. I love a good hit as anyone out there. I understand that football is a gladiator sport. What the NFL finally recognized is that these missile leading with the helmet hits have to stop. Players in the lower levels (college, high school i.e.) try to emulate their heroes in the NFL. Unfortunately this past weekend Eric LeGrand of Rutgers became paralyzed from the neck down. The 72 hour window of hope has come and gone and my prayers go out to him and his family and also my hopes are there for him to walk again. This is what the league is trying to avoid and by doing so, it will trickle down to the lower levels of play and ultimately cut down head and nerve injuries. It is nice to see the NFL finally taking a stand here understanding their responsibility not only to their players but for all football players. They should also use better equipped helmets, that onus is on the NFL still. On to Week 7 picks.

Cincinnati (2-3) 17 @ Atlanta (4-2) 31
The Bengals go down to the Chocolate City after a bye week to face a Falcon team that just got embarrassed in Philadelphia. I have been waiting for two things to happen this season- The Bengals offense to wake up and for Turner to have that 3TD monster game (I thought that was going to happen last week, but being down 21-0 real quick makes a team become more one-dimensional). Palmer comes back after a horrible, less then 5 minutes left to go in the game, performance as he gift wrapped the game for Tampa Bay. I think Atlanta bounces back at home and goes to 5-2 while the Bengals dig themselves a deep hole looking up at the Ravens and Steelers.

Washington (3-3) 28 @ Chicago (4-2) 20
#5 returns home again. This time to his true hometown of the Chicago area. One thing I learned about McNabb is that he loves playing in Chicago in front of family and friends and usually does really well. I see no difference in a Redskin uniform. Cutler has been running for his life lately and yet the suppose genius of Mike Martz still lines up with a 4 or 5 receiver set with no TE for extra help in blocking. And to run the ball only 8 times after a week where Forte rushed for a career high is just inexcusable. I think Lovie Smith needs to put in Jonathon Moxon and instead of throwing the ball at his father or the opposing team's mascot aim it at Martz. He is leaving Cutler on a platter to the opposing team's front seven.

St. Louis (3-3) 24 @ Tampa Bay (3-2) 28
Great win by the Rams last week against the Bolts. Tampa Bay on the other hand had a wake up call by the Saints. This one is a tough one to pick, so I'm going with the home team and my fantasy QB in this one.

San Francisco (1-5) 20 @ Carolina (0-5) 13
Finally the Niners won a game. Will that continue in the east coast. The Panthers are going back to Moore at the QB position. They will also get a boost from Steve Smith coming back, but who cares when you have no one who can get the ball to him. I don't like the Panthers but I also don't like a 1-5 team from the west coast playing in the east coast.

Buffalo (0-5) 10 @ Baltimore (4-2) 24
Just what the Ravens need after a OT loss. The Buffalo Bills. Ray Lewis by far has the best quote about what the NFL is trying to do with the hits- "My opinion is play the game like that game is supposed to be played, and whatever happens happens". Instead of complaining and mulling retirement Lewis just said it the way it is. There also could be some tension on the offense side of the ball as it was reported that Flacco is getting a lil upset with the conservative play calling. All will be well in Ravenland after this week.

Philadelphia (4-2) 27 @ Tennessee (4-2) 17
Huge Inter-conference game here. The Eagles can get a leg up in their division as the Titans beat the Cowboys and Giants earlier this season. This is going to be a tough one for the Birds as they go against Chris Johnson, hopefully he can be contain like Gore and Turner were in the previous two weeks. Tennessee is coming off a Monday night victory laugher over the Jags. Philly will like a win here before the bye and stay atop the NFC East as the Titans will like a win to stay atop their division. Unfortunately, DJax will be sitting this one out and to be honest I think he will be out for a while since this is his 2nd major concussion in as many seasons. The Titans D have two former Eagles who were cut earlier in the year and have been playing awesome under Jeff Fisher. Babin is 4th in the league in sacks and Witherspoon is playing well and both will like nothing more then to do some damage to the Birds. Vince Young is a game time decision but I think he will play. I went against my team last week. Not going to do it this week.

Jacksonville (3-3) 6 @ Kansas City (3-2) 20
The Chiefs are coming off a tough loss to the Texans. I just don't understand how Andre Johnson can get so open on a play like that- let someone else beat you. The Cheifs had that game and let it slipped away. Whereas the Jags didn't even show up on Monday at home against the Titans. Arrowhead is a tough place to play and to have Todd Bouman as your QB is never a good thing.

Pittsburgh (4-1) 24 @ Miami (3-2) 17
This one is the matchup of the week for me. I love the physicality of these two teams. If this were Big Ben's first game back I think I would go the Fins way, but with the rust starting to come off last week- I'm picking the Steelers. Miami will have to try to keep the Steelers out of the endzone and to capitalize on their mistakes for them to win. Don't be surprise if the Fins come out on top in this one.

Cleveland (1-5) 17 @ New Orleans (4-2) 31
Nice start for the McCoy era against Pittsburgh last week. Word is that he is starting again this week. First the Pittsburgh D and now trying to keep up with Drew Brees this week. The Saints last Sunday finally had a game that wasn't a nail biter. This should be another blowout in this one as the Browns come to the Big Easy.

Arizona (3-2) 21 @ Seattle (3-2) 30
Man was I wrong about that Seattle game last week. Good job by the defensive front seven wrecking havoc all day on Cutler. Although that is as easy as it sounds these days. My new way on picking NFC west opponents is to just pick the home team whenever they face each other.

New England (4-1) 28 @ San Diego (2-4) 38
This is the hardest game to pick this week for me. New England going out west to face the Chargers. Which Charger team will show up is a guessing game as any other. New England looked like the Patriots during their dynasty years, which is pretty scary. I still don't trust that defense though and the Chargers have their backs against the wall and they seemed to always start balling when that happens. That is way I'm picking the Bolts.

Oakland (2-4) 10 @ Denver (2-4) 24
Big divisional matchup here. Denver coming off a tough loss to the Jets last week. All they needed was to stop one play and ended up getting a pass interference call that led to the game winning TD for New York. Oakland is coming off a brutal loss to the winless Niners. Denver has been playing decent football despite a 3 game losing streak. I don't see that streak going to 4.

Minnesota (2-3) 34 @ Green Bay (3-3) 27
Huge game for the Vikings here. A win here and the start of 1-3 is a distant memory. They didn't play well last week against Dallas but still manage to win the game. Mainly because of stupid ass penalties caused by Dallas. Brett Favre comes back to Lambeau Field for this Sunday night matchup. Primetime at his old stadium calls for some magic and a possibility of some mooning from Moss. Green Bay is hurting still and is my main reason for picking against them.

New York Giants (4-2) 38 @ Dallas (1-4) 41
Funny how the NFL is when three weeks ago we thought the Giants were falling flat on their face and that the Cowboys finally woke up and got their season on track. Just the exact opposite happened. Will the Giants keep the foot on the Cowboys throat or will the Cowboys win a game with their backs against the wall. It seems like these games are always a high scoring affair in Dallas. The Giants need to hound Romo all night to cause turnovers. I think the Cowboys come out on top in this one to keep their season alive.

Byes

Detroit (1-5)- Leave it to the Lions to have a 1-5 record and to have score more points than points against.

Houston (4-2)- By the time they get back, Andre Johnson's ankle should be healed.

Indianapolis (4-2)- A much needed by for the Colts. Unfortunately Dallas Clark went onto the IR this past week and Austin Collie will be sidelined for at least 3 weeks. But hey as long as Peyton Manning is under center the Colts will be alright.

New York Jets (5-1)- Will this bye cool off a team that has been riding the hot hand lately?koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-86118140045238574562010-10-12T08:41:00.000-07:002010-10-16T07:21:06.235-07:00Week 6 PickLast week is a distant memory. That was a god awful performance pick wise. Hopefully can rebound this week, as I fell off the overall leader in my office pool. Now I am 3 back, hope to gain some ground this week.

Seattle (2-2) 13 @ Chicago (4-1) 27
I picked Carolina last week because of Todd Collins and I sat Forte in my fantasy because I thought the Panther D only needed to concentrate on the running game. Well, I lost on both fronts. Cutler should be coming back for this game and Seattle is coming back from a bye. But playing in Chicago is a tough spot for a west team to play in. The Bears still won the game despite throwing 4 Ints and if that happens again this week they can still win the game. That is how much faith I have for the Seahawks.

Miami (2-2) 17 @ Green Bay (3-2) 13
A crushing defeat for the Pack last week. Not only did they lose a 10 point lead in the 4th, they possibly lost Rodgers for this game. Even with Rodgers in, I think the Fins can pull this one off. Injuries are piling up in Green Bay. The O-line is a mess and the injuries on defense seems to be multiplying by 3 everyday. Miami had a week to fix their problems, especially special teams. Interesting matchup between Woodson and Marshall in this one. I think the Dolphins will pound the ball with their 1-2 punch of Brown and Williams to keep the Packers offense off the field and to keep the mistakes minimal for Henne.

San Diego (2-3) 31 @ St. Louis (2-3)10
Interesting stat here- the Chargers are #1 in Offense and #2 in Defense (both in yds. per game) but are only 2-3. How the hell does that happen. Special teams are horrendous in San Diego. 3 weeks ago Leon Washington returned two Kickoffs and last week 2 punts were blocked for scores (a safety and a TD). Throw in the costly turnovers and the other team doesn't really have to move the ball that much to have a score. Feel bad for Mark Clayton who went down for the season with a knee injury. Him and Bradford had a nice Oklahoma connection there. Danny Amendola is the biggest beneficiary for fantasy. With the lost to Detroit shows just how much growing the Rams need to be a factor in the NFL. Steve Spags is doing one heck of job there and I say another 2 years and the Rams are an above .500 team.

Baltimore (4-1) 24 @ New England (2-2) 17
The Game of the week. The Patriots get to face the team who just dominated them last year in the playoffs. The Pats traded away their deep threat last week and added an old friend this week. I think the Ravens are too much to handle for the Pats in this one. But New England will not get blown out like last season. It is going to be interesting for the Pats without the deep threat of Randy Moss. Wes Welker now grabs the full attention of opponents.

New Orleans (3-2) 24 @ Tampa Bay (3-1) 14
One of the most interesting matchups here. We have been waiting for the Saints to wake up from their superbowl hangover and also for the Bucs to fall flat. Saints just lost to an undrafted QB's first NFL start, even though a passing nor rushing TD was scored for the Cardinals. The Bucs are coming back from a never say die attitude game in Cincy, thanks to Carson Palmer. I'm tempted to pick the Buccaneers in this one because it's a feel good story of a young team performing above expectations. The Saints though can't lose this game and be in an 2 game hole in their own division. I think they rebound in a tight one here.

Detroit (1-4) 17 @ New York Giants (3-2) 34
The Gmen just dominated the upstart Texans and caused the all AFC south to be tied at 3-2. Hakeem Nicks is balling right now as is the Defense who are ranked #1 in passing D. The Lions coming off their first win of the season come into the swamps of New Jersey to face a team that is riding hot right now. Stafford is on the verge of coming back, but I think it will be wise to sit him out against this pass rush. As long as Manning doesn't throw picks and Bradshaw holds onto the ball, the Gmen win in a landslide.

Atlanta (4-1) 20 @ Philadelphia (3-2) 13
The NFC game of the week. The Dirty Birds vs. the Birds in the city of brotherly love. Eagles are hurting right now with some key injuries, but the backups have been a pleasant surprise. Jason Peters is out and Dunlap will replace him at Left Tackle, which has Abraham drooling at the mouth as Dunlap gave up 3 sacks last Sunday night in San Francisco. I know Vick really wants to be out there to face his former team, but I think he will be out at least one more week. Though I think it will be wise to sit him out next week against the Titans before the bye week just to give him a full month of recovery. The Eagles get Samuel back after a week off which should help with a receiver like Roddy White on the other side. Philly surprise me last week with the containment of Gore, but I do not see that happening this week with Michal Turner. I hate to do it but I think the Falcons are too much for the Eagles in this one.

Cleveland (1-4) 6 @ Pittsburgh (3-1) 33
Nice game for the Big Ben return. Gets to get some of that rust off against the Browns. Word around the campfire is that Mangini is about to put in rookie Colt McCoy in because of ankle injures to Wallace and Delhomme. Now that's a welcome to the NFL kid- go ahead and face the Steel Curtain. Don't forget that Cribbs was a QB in college so you might see him under center for a number of plays also. Mike Wallace will love the return of Big Ben because it'll buy him more time to get down the field. Steelers in a laugher in Pittsburgh.

Kansas City (3-1) 17 @ Houston (3-2) 27
I think we can start taking the Cheifs a little more seriously as they were in a dogfight in Indianapolis last week. Defense is playing as well as anybody now, but the offense is lacking a spark from the QB. They will be going up against the worst pass defense in the league, so if it doesn't happen here it won't happen for Cassell at all this season. Houston is coming off a defeat that they will like to get out of their minds. Fantasy sleeper of the week is in this game and he goes by the name of Dexter McCluster. I think Cassell has to be losing faith in Bowe because of the many dropped balls that he had last week. Expect him to look for Dexter alot more against the Texans here.

Oakland (2-3) 16 @ San Francisco (0-5) 24
The Battle of the Bay. York claiming that his team will still win the NFC West, and why not I still do myself. But if they lose this game against Da Raiders, I will have to start rethinking of another West team to make the playoffs. This is a must win for the Niners, not so much for Oakland. I think San Fran comes out hungrier and wins in a close one.

NY Jets (4-1) 23 @ Denver (2-3) 13
Does not get any easier for the Broncos. At least they will not play against Revis in this one I think. Jets should come in and control the tempo of this game. They will control the ball with the running game to keep the #1 passing offense off the field. There is a possibility of Moreno to be out for the 3rd straight week, but did practice today which is a good sign. The Broncos will not have a shot to win this game without him.

Dallas (1-3) 28 @ Minnesota (1-3) 31
Way to get people off the topic of the sexting Brett- talk about how your streak is in danger because of your elbow. He is not fooling me and he will play. He showed some life in that 2nd half on Monday night and surpassed the unfathomable numbers of 500 TD passes and also 70,000 yards. He also broke another record that night surpassing the great Warren Moon in fumbles. Dallas was also sluggish in the beginning against the Titans and woke up right before half. That was an awesome play from Miles Austin last week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X5KEMzlMC8. Both teams need a win here so this is going to be a dogfight. Wouldn't it be funny if this game ended in a tie? The Vikings need to stick with AP for the all game to keep Romo off the field and to avoid a costly Favre turnover. Moss loves playing against the Cowboys because he felt Jerry Jones snubbed him by not drafting him.

Indianapolis (3-2) 34 @ Washington (3-2) 21
Never bet against Manning in primetime. What a great win from the Redskins last week and even a better catch by Armstrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xdw3Kx2c5iw. I think the Colts are just to much for the 'Skins to handle.

Tennessee (3-2) 30 @ Jacksonville (3-2) 17
The winner of this one will at least be in a tie for first and the loser will be in last place in the AFC South. Great time to have this game on Monday Night Football.

Byes

Buffalo-could possibly on the verge of a 0-16 season.

Cincinnati- a much needed rest for the Bengals. You can see that the 'Skins came in to win it for McNabb. That just shows how much respect they have for the man. You will always be respected by me Donovan, even though your team beat the Birds. On to Week 5 picks.

Jacksonville (2-2) 10 @ Buffalo (0-4) 17
A thrilling 59 yard FG to beat the Colts last week for the Jags. Scobee ran around like a little kid after that kick was an awesome sight to see. For some reason the Jaguars always play the Colts tough. I see one of those "Let Down" games here as they travel to upstate New York to face the Bills. Buffalo gets off the snide here and wins their first victory of the season. Earlier in the week the Bills traded Marshawn Lynch to the Seahawks. This should give Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller some more touches. The only problem is that this team will normally play from behind.

Tampa Bay (2-1) 10 @ Cincinnati (2-2) 16
I don't know why I've been thinking that this Bengals offense will wake up. Maybe its just that Carson Palmer isn't that good anymore. They seemed to be moving the ball, but are not getting Touchdowns. Tampa had 2 weeks to prepare for this team which is the reason why it's a close game.

Atlanta (3-1) 38 @ Cleveland (1-3) 13
What I like about the Falcons this season is that they are winning games that they should lose. One being the Saints when Hartley missed a 29-yd chipshot in OT and last week when Clements didn't secure the ball. Great hustle play from Roddy White, who because of that (actually the 2nd time it happened- more on that later) is becoming one of my favorite non-eagle players. I don't know why Mangini has to think if Delhoume is healthy to play him. The truth is Jake sucks and at least the Browns have been in the games Seneca has started in. I don't think this is a contest, leave Wallace in there until he has one of the Delhoume's 5 int games.

St. Louis (2-2) 27 @ Detroit (0-4) 28
The hardest game to pick this week. Sam Bradford is growing right in front of our eyes. It's amazing what this kid has done in his first 4 games as a pro. Yes he is making mistakes, as all rookie QBs do, but he has made some real nice throws. And not only that has made a real possibility of contention for the Division. It's the wild wild west out there and someone has to come out on top and why not the Rams. As for the Lions if not this week- when? Stafford will be sitting out this week, which I think is the right move because the Lions bye is next week. This will give him 2 weeks off to rest that shoulder. In the end, Detroit comes out with a victory.

Kansas City (3-0) 20 @ Indianapolis (2-2) 35
I wish this game was at Arrowhead. I think it will had made a hell of a game, but Peyton being home after a defeat is a recipe for disaster for the visiting team. This will be a good test to see whether or not to take the Cheifs seriously for the rest of the season.

Green Bay (3-1) 24 @ Washington (2-2) 10
Did you see that INT by Woodson last week- loved the dive at the end. Great win by the Redskins last week against my Birds. It was an ugly game, but they came out on top. Green Bay almost lost a big lead to Detroit. It looked liked they put the foot off the gas. I don't think you will see that this week. In order for the 'Skins to win this game, they need to put tons of pressure on Rodgers.

Chicago (3-1) 13 @ Carolina (0-4) 17
My third winless team getting a victory pick this week. Carolina gets a break with Todd Collins being the QB for the Bears this week. But they also need to watch out for former Panther Julius Peppers. Who wants to have a beast of a game. But the horrible play from Chicago's O-line is the main reason for picking the Panthers this week.

Denver (2-2) 13 @ Baltimore (3-1) 24
Huge win by the Ravens last week. Also a nice last minute win by the Broncos last week. Denver will again be an one-dimensional offense as Moreno is out again. You can not go into Baltimore like that.

New York Giants (2-2) 24 @ Houston (3-1) 34
You know what I hated about last Sunday night's game. It reminded me of 2007 when they sacked McNabb 12 times. What a dominating performance by the Gmen's D-Line. Their offense though is a different story, but this week they should produce but will come up short to a superior offense in the Texans. Houston should get a big boost by having Andre Johnson back in the lineup this week.

New Orleans (3-1) 38 @ Arizona (2-2) 17
This is the game where Drew Brees and Co. can sit back and relax in the 4th quarter. Every game so far this year for the Saints has been a tight one. Max Hall will get his first start for the Cardinals- I don't know how much of an upgrade this is from Derek Anderson though.

San Diego (2-2) 31 @ Oakland (1-3) 27
Which San Diego team are we getting this week. I was pretty close on picking the Raiders because it is such a crap shoot. The Raiders have been in pretty much all of their games and I see no difference in this one. At least they don't have to worry about LT, because it seemed he always had his best games against Oakland. San Diego in a tight one, but I wouldn't be surprise if Oakland gets an upset here.

Tennessee (2-2) 17 @ Dallas (1-2) 24
The Titans lost a heartbreaker last week. And it seems like 2,500 yards is now a distant goal now for Chris Johnson. After being held in check for the past two weeks, expect him to come back to form against the Cowboys. Vince Young comes back home to Texas and might be able to pull out a victory, but I think with the Cowboys are too much for them.

Philadelphia (2-2) 27 @ San Francisco (0-4) 21
It looks like the Kevin Kolb era is back on. With Vick out for at least the next couple of weeks, Kolb has to be the man. It appears that Shady McCoy will play with a fractured rib which should help Kolb since he doesn't have to it himself. The D has to come in and step up and make some plays to cause turnovers. The Birds will be without Samual this week. I am beginning to think that San Franciso is a bad coached team. I love Singletary and all but when Roddy White comes down the field to strip the ball after an Int for the 2nd straight season- Yeah that's right it happened last season also. Last year in week 5, Dre Bly Intercepted the ball and guess who came from behind to strip the ball- Roddy White. You will think they will learn their lesson from last season.

Minnesota (1-2) 24 @ New York Jets (3-1) 17
News of the week was that Moss was traded to the team that drafted him. To be honest with you, I would've picked the Jets if this game was on Sunday. It being on Monday night made me think a lil bit, because for some reason Favre and Moss bring their A game on MNF. And now they are on the same team.

Byes

Miami (2-2)
Tough back to back losses to AFC East foes. Have an extra week to have that salt in their mouths before they come back.

New England (2-2)
Traded Moss at the right time I think. Right before the Vikings play the Jets. Smart move by the Pats.

Pittsburgh (3-1)
Great 4 week stretch without Big Ben, almost came out of it being undefeated. Now with their starter back, I think Pittsburgh is going to be really tough out from here on out.

Seattle (2-2)
Hope to have a running game when they get back, with Marshawn Lynch there now.koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-20175111165857110352010-09-27T19:53:00.000-07:002010-10-03T08:19:15.356-07:00NFL Week 4 PicksAnother 11-5 week, at least for the next few weeks that's impossible. But a good start to the season nonetheless. Fantasy Football now becomes real interesting with the byes starting this week.

Now to the Picks of Week 4

San Francisco (0-3) 13 @ Atlanta (2-1) 27
Wow what a win by the Falcons last week. What a gutsy called by Mike Smith to go for it on a 4th & 6 to not give the ball back to the Saints and to ice the game. Even though the attempt failed, the football gods rewarded the Falcons with a victory for the gutsiness of the call. As for San Fran, starting the season 0-3 is not a good thing but definitely count your blessings for being in the weakest division of football. They might even start 0-5 with Philly coming into town next week and still win the division. The Niners have had two games on the road and got blown out in both of them. They fired their offense coordinator this past week, hoping to get a boost in that department. I just think the Falcons are too much for them to handle this week, even though it can be one of those "Let Down" games after a huge victory for the Dirty Birds in New Orleans.

Cincinnati (2-1) 20 @ Cleveland (0-3) 10
The Battle of Ohio. To be honest with you, I think Ohio State can beat both these teams. Cleveland kept it close against the Ravens last week. I am beginning to agree with the Sports Guy and state that God hates Cleveland. I do not know what the land of Cleveland did to deserve this misery and suffering. Think about it, Byner's fumble, The Drive, Jordan killing the Ehlo and Price Cavs, Mesa's blown save, Modell packing up and leaving town only to win a Super Bowl in Baltimore, and their so called savior from sports misery LeBron packing up and leaving town. The Jets played a hard fought game down in South Beach. The Jets going for a 3 game sweep to their AFC East opponents which will give them a big edge on going on to win the division. I think the Jets D will cause turnovers which will ultimately make this game a landslide. Everyone is saying that LT is reborn. I think LT never needed to be reborn, it's amazing how a guy rushes for 730 yds and still scores 12 TDs on a pass first offense. Now that he is on a team that knows how to run the ball he is just doing what he has always done. Sanchez is growing into a QB right in front of our eyes. Also it helps to have Dustin Keller playing amazing football coming out of the tight end position. If this offense continues to grow throughout the season as the Defense will be one of the stinginess in the league, it's a recipe for a Super Bowl run.

Seattle (2-1) 17 @ St. Louis (1-2) 7
How do you even pick this game, and worst of all they play again later in the season. God I hate the NFC West. It's amazing how someone from this division is going to the playoffs. Congratulations to the Rams and for Sam Bradford's first professional win. Did anyone see that Jackson run for the TD, how the hell did he score. It looked like he was running in slow motion and the Skins still couldn't catch him. Just horrible D there by Washington last week. Seattle though caused 5 turnovers and Leon Washington returned two Kickoffs to the house and still had a nail biter in the end. How was San Diego still in the game with stats like that. I think I will have to go with the more veteran team here, so I'm picking the Hawks win this one.

Denver (1-2) 13 @ Tennessee (2-1) 24
Kyle Orton has been putting up career numbers early this season. Too bad they do not have a running game with Moreno out for the 2nd week in a row. Orton, although as well as he's been playing, can not do it himself. Which makes it easier for me to pick the Titans in this game. Last week in the Meadowlands it looked as if Chris Johnson didn't do much during the game, but then you look at his stats and he ended up with 125 yds and 2tds.

Detroit (0-3) 17 @ Green Bay (2-1) 31
18 penalties on Monday for the Pack, a franchise record. The main reason why they lost that game to the Bears. I think after losing to a rival like that, they will end up picking the Lions apart. What I don't understand about Monday was- Why didn't McCarthy just let the Bears score when they got down inside the 10? I mean don't these guys play Madden. I would rather have the ball in Rodgers hands to tie the game to send the game to OT (or go for the win with a 2 point conversion) then to have an improbable blocked field goal with so little time left.

Baltimore (2-1) 17 @ Pittsburgh (3-0) 13
Most likely the Game of the week. When these two teams face off against each other you know its going to be a hard nose battle til the end. The Steelers 3-0 without Big Ben, no one saw this one coming 'cept Pittsburgh fans. Looks like Charlie Batch gets the start again, unfortunately for him it is not the Buccaneers. This game is going to be won by whoever wins the Turnover battle. I just think the Ravens will come out on top in this game.

Carolina (0-3) 10 @ New Orleans (2-1) 34
Another tight game last week against the Falcons, lucky for them the Saints can beat up on the Panthers this week. Drew Brees has a monster game in this one. Maybe Carolina can get their running game going in this game, which has been non existent this season. Teams are daring them to have their QB beat them. Sucks for them that Drew Clausen is their QB.

Indianapolis (2-1) 31 @ Jacksonville (1-2) 13
Wow did the Jaguars looked horrible last week. Thank god for that, since it was against the Birds. You know it's bad when your team signs Trent Edwards off waivers. What a start to the season for 2nd year pro Austin Collie. It also helps out a lot to have Peyton Manning as your QB. This should be another monster game for Manning owners in fantasy. Who has put up at least 30 points in each of his 3 games this season. Look for that trend to continue this week. Over/Under for Jack Del Rio to be fire for me is Week 6.

Houston (2-1) 24 @ Oakland (1-2) 17
As soon as most people start to take the Texans seriously, they wet the bed against the Cowboys. I'm still picking them to win the division though. Andre Johnson will be going up against Asomugha, this time the team's #1 receiver has an actual QB throwing him the ball. But Johnson's ankle is not 100% yet but will try to be a factor in this game. Janikowski missing that game winner cost me my pool last week. What a bum, a game where Oakland would've won- lost it because of the $4 million kicker missed the game winner. It's about time for McFadden to wake up and produce at this level. Wow has he been looking like the back we all expected him to be coming out of college. I think the Texans are too much for the Raiders.

Washington (1-2) 21 @ Philadelphia (2-1) 27
My game of the week. One of my favorite Eagles of all-time comes back for revenge. If you haven't heard, #5 is coming back to the place he resurrected from the dead. I will never forget what McNabb has done for the Eagles franchise. Nor the day those Philly bums booed him on Draft Day. That was the day I started to hate Philly fans, even though I am one myself (only to the Eagles franchise, but with a New York sports mentality). Those bums wanted Ricky Williams while Doug Pederson as the QB. The man took us to 5 NFC championship games. And yet they seemed to never fully appreciated the man. He better get a standing Ovation when he is introduced, but I know it will be different as soon as he steps on the field as a Redskin. I think McNabb keeps this game close but the Eagles are the more talented team and will come out on top.

Arizona (2-1) 7 @ San Diego (1-2) 27
Why is it that the Chargers always start off slow under Norv Turner? With a Derek Anderson led team coming into your home stadium you better not lose. I said the Chargers will win by a landslide last week, I meant this week. They can't lose back to back games with NFC West opponents. They should be in control of this game throughout at home.

Chicago (3-0) 10 @ New York Giants (1-2) 14
I am picking the GMen for this game. I think its one of those "Let Down" games for the Bears after coming off an emotional win Monday night against their rival Packers. Cutler has been looking real good in the Mike Martz offense. Forte though needs to step up his running game, although he has been nice receiving the ball really well. The Giants need to stay away from stupid penalties and from left handed throws from Eli. With their back against the wall and being at home, the Giants win this in a tight one.

New England (2-1) 17 @ Miami (2-1) 24
Miami played a hard fought game against their foes (Jets) last week. They get to take out their frustration against another foe- The Patriots. The Pats D is suspect to say the least, but do have the highest scoring offense. I give the edge to the Fins because of their Defense. Some good plays by Keller and a Jason Allen slipped won that game for the Jets last week. I think the Fins learned from their mistakes and beat the Pats.

Byes

Dallas (1-2)
A must needed win against the Texans. It is a different kind of humor, but one that as my ass laughing. As for the opening show of Boardwalk Empire, wow what a way to start the show off. Loving everything about it. They do a really great job with the setting of the 1920s, with the clothes, cars, styles, and the advertisement of the times. Don't know if this show will eventually beat out my top show of all time The Wire, but it already looks to be better than The Sopranos. Only time will tell.

Now let's talk some football. Obviously the big news of the week comes from my favorite organization, The Philadelphia Eagles. Over the summer the Eagles traded their best QB ever to a division rival. Throughout the summer in training camp and preseason, all you heard was Kevin Kolb is the guy- our leader. I bought into this because I trust Andy Reid, except for when it comes to getting 1 yard and time management. I also believed that Andy was a better coach when McNabb wasn't in there. He led a AJ Feeley quarterback team to a 4 game winning streak before losing a meaningless game to the GMen to secure a bye and give McNabb time to come back from an ankle injury. He also had a 50 yr old Jeff Garcia make an improbable 6 game winning streak to make the playoffs when #5 went down for the season. I thought this will translate to Kolb. Unfortunately Kolb went down in week 1 with a concussion. Something that needs to be taken seriously not just the NFL but on all levels of any sport. Vick stepped in and did his thing to get the Birds back into the game against Green Bay, but came up short. Then with Kolb out in Week 2 against a team that has only won 2 out of 36, Vick rise from the dead and took the opportunity and ran with it. He looked like the Vick of old and Reid took notice and named him the starter by going against what he has been saying since the McNabb trade. In the short term I think it's the right thing to do. It gives the Eagles the best chance to win right now. Long term wise though, it takes a year away to have Kolb get game time chemistry with the offense. All this trade talk with Kolb is nonsense, Andy has to prove that he made the right decision on letting go of McNabb.

Now let's get to some picks. The past two weeks my record as been 11-5 each week. I was one win away from my office pool last week.

Tennessee (1-1) 17 @ New York Giants (1-1) 14

Both of these teams last week played ugly. Something has to give in this game. Speaking of ugly, did anyone see that thing in the stands when Jacobs threw his helmet to the stands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUseq4z9-QM&feature=related look at the 27 sec mark, oh boy will it hurt your eyes. 34 yards for Chris Johnson last week. I don't think that is happening this week as I see a Johnson explosion. I say 160 total yds and 2 tds. He is the only reason why I'm taking the Titans this week.

Pittsburgh (2-0) 13 @ Tampa Bay (2-0) 10

The Steelers are down to their 4th string QB, Charlie Batch. Who is the backup for this game?? I hope they have Kordell on call. As for Tampa, they have been a nice little surprise- especially Josh Freeman. I just think Pitt's D is too much for the Bucs in this one. Tampa can pull it out but they need turnovers and that Special Teams TD and to have the Steelers look ahead to their battle against the Ravens next week. I don't see that happening, but I do see another Defensive, Grind them out win for the Steel Curtain in this one.

Cincinnati (1-1) 27 @ Carolina (0-2) 6
Notre Dame Alum Drew Clausen gets his first start as a NFL quarterback. It ain't going to pretty. I think the Bengals offense wakes up this week after a hard fought game last week against the Ravens. This game should result in Tds instead of FGs for Cincy. I expect a huge game from Palmer and the Bengals D. Carolina tried to run the ball last week but couldn't against Tampa Bay. They need the run game this week to be in it, but with a rookie QB under center- I think you'll be seeing 8 men in the box to stop the Stewart Williams duo.

Cleveland (0-2) 6 @ Baltimore (1-1) 24

Really not much to say about this game other than the fact- if you are in a survivor pool pick whoever plays the Browns and Bills. I expect Joe Flacco to wake up from his sleep this week and get some confidence going into next week's big matchup against the Steelers.

Dallas (0-2) 38 @ Houston (2-0) 41

This one is going to be a slugfest. And the idea of Dallas being 0-3 is sweet music to my ears. Losing to another team in Texas just might be Wade Phillip's job. I don't expect him being a coach in the NFL in the near future and losing this game might push him out the door. The only thing I have seen from the Cowboys this year is mistake after mistake. They are just stupid mistakes like, dumbass penalties, play calling, and coverages. This reflects on the coaches and I'll be surprised if Phillips is the coach going into November. I am surprised that Schaub's arm didn't fall off last week after throwing for nearly 500 yards. That game against the 'Skins was like the old AFL shootouts. Fantasy wise you better hope you have anyone on these two teams to be playing and to not be playing anyone that are on them.

San Francisco (0-2) 17 @ Kansas City (2-0) 21

This game by far is the hardest one to pick. San Fran played their hearts out last week, and would've beaten the champs if it wasn't for costly turnovers. Will we see that team on Sunday or the team that showed up in Seattle to open the season? On the other hand, KC's D is playing awesome. I wish I can say to the same about Cassell, but the D has been making plays when needed to to pick up the Offenses slack. We are not going to see the crowd that was at Arrowhead for opening night, mainly because they will have less time to tailgate. But the KC faithful our always ready to be the 12th man and I think that will cause some time issues and miss play calling for the San Fran offense. Picking the home team here, especially after the Niners played a heart breaker on 6 days rest and are on the road.

Detroit (0-2) 13 & Minnesota (0-2) 17

Detroit at least can say they have an unofficial win. Minnesota, on the other hand, is in disarray. Favre is probably thinking why didn't I stay on my mower. The offense is not looking good at all. Does Rice really make that much of a difference for this team? I didn't think so at first, I knew it was a big lost and all but I didn't think the offense will free fall. To their credit though, they did face two tough opponents and should start picking up some confidence this week against the Lions. Peterson must be drooling right now after seeing Shady McCoy run for a 120 and 3 tds against Detroit last week. The Lions so far have been the most entertaining team this young in the season. One stupid ruling from a winning TD and coming back strong against the Eagles only to be derailed after recovering an onside kick. Best is a beast- man did he killed the Eagles in both the running and passing game last week. Should be another close one for the Lions but aren't able to pull it off.

Buffalo (0-2) 6 @ New England (1-1) 38

Wow did Tom Brady just implode in that 2nd half against the Jets last week. Maybe it's his hair. Seriously though losing Kevin Faulk for the season is huge for this Patriots team. I always liked the way he plays. He just goes out and gets the job done. Faulk will be missed especially on 3rd downs. Hasn't Buffalo seen this QB swap before? When are you guys going to get a QB- what are you waiting for?? I just don't get it, this has been an issue for many seasons now and yet they don't address it.

Atlanta (1-1) 27 @ New Orleans (2-0) 24

I'm going with the Falcons here, because they have what it takes to beat the Saints. And that is to keep Drew Brees and Co. off the field by giving the ball to Turner and Snelling. As long as Matty Ice does not make any mistakes, Atlanta should walk away from this game with a victory. Bad Break for Bush, but haven't you notice that that '04 USC team looks to be cursed. First Leinert gets cut, then Bush hands back the Heisman and then breaks his leg. Steve Smith from the Giants better watch out. Just a warning. Saints though have been playing on the edge to start this season, but championship teams just go out and find ways to win games.

Washington (1-1) 24 @ St Louis (0-2) 10

The Rams have been in both games this season but this week is different. Washington has a sour taste in their mouth after losing in OT at home to Houston. A game they should have won. Why wasn't Andre Johnson double covered on that all important 4th & 10? The 'Skins should not worry about a comeback with this Rams team.

Philadelphia (1-1) 27 @ Jacksonville (1-1) 17

Two things that impressed me last week with the Birds, 1- Shady McCoy and 2- Mike is back. Speaking of Vick, pretty classy cover by the Philly Daily News having "Top Dog" when Vick was name the starter. What a poor choice of a word. No wonder why everyone hates this fan base. The only thing that scares me this week is that Jones-Drew is about to get a breakout games this season. I'm just hoping it is not this one. Stewart Bradley coming back will help a lot not making that happen. Beware of picking the Birds because they have never beaten the Jags.

Oakland (1-1) 20 @ Arizona (1-1) 13

Bruce named the starter for Da Raiders this past week. A good week to do it quietly with Philadelphia taking all of the media with their QB switch. I think this is the right call. Last year when they finally pulled the worthless Russell out, they started playing with heart with Gradkowski under center. Michael Bush should return to get some action as is Beanie Wells for 'Zona. Interesting matchup with Larry Fitzgerald going up against Nnamdi Asomugha. It probably would've been the one on one matchup of the week but Fitz doesn't have anyone who can throw to him.

San Diego (1-1) 41 @ Seattle (1-1) 10

This should be another blow out for the Chargers. Ryan Mathews went down with a high ankle sprain last week and I doubt he'll suit up. Tolbert will be the biggest beneficiary in fantasy leagues. San Diego should also get a boost on their O-line as McNeil signed his tender, but that isn't happening til Week 6.

Indianapolis (1-1) 31 @ Denver (1-1) 13

Sad Story to what happen to Kenny McKinley (2nd year pro from South Carolina), my prayers go out to the family. I thinks the Colts are too much to handle for the Broncos, even though they will have that extra mojo for playing this one for McKinley. I love what the Colts did last Sunday. Can you believe they ran the ball more then passed. This must've been the 1st time this decade that happened. Peyton put the smack down on his 'lil brother defense & on the other side Eli was getting harass all night by Freeney and Mathis. I expect more of the same here in Denver.

New York Jets (1-1) 24 @ Miami (2-0) 27

My most anticipated game of the week. These two teams hate each other and it shows on the field. Always a fun game to watch. Whether it be Marino's fake spike or Jumbo Elliot scoring a touchdown during an amazing MNF comeback. The 'Fins matchup great against this team and I see them giving Sanchez fits. No Revis means Cromartie will be covering Marshall. As these two foes played in the West before- it is no contest who is better. And Braylon Braylon Braylon- WTF were you thinking?? I just don't get it with these athletes- CALL A CAR SERVICE. Just a stupid mistake and it caused an unwanted distraction this week.

Green Bay (2-0) 27 @ Chicago (2-0) 28

This should be another fun game to watch this week. The battle for the early division lead in the North. I give Chicago the edge because of No Grant (Green Bay had Buffalo last week, so not having Grant wasn't noticeable). Rodgers will have to win this one by himself. Both these Quarterbacks are going to get murdered because of their awful O-lines. I think they are both going to make mistakes and when they do the other needs to respond by getting Touchdowns.

Last Week: 11-5

Season: 22-10

koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-88109711754111208592010-09-17T09:56:00.001-07:002010-09-17T13:36:32.666-07:00Week 2 PicksLet's start off that I am very excited for Sunday nights once more because of HBO. This Sunday is the premiere of my most anticipated show this Fall Boardwalk Empire. It is based on a book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City written by Nelson Johnson. I haven't read it but by the looks of the show it looks like this is going to be added to my "To Read List". Martin Scorsese is the director for this show, and as of late he has been hitting homeruns with his previous movies Shutter Island and The Departed. Steve Buscemi is the main charactor playing Nucky Thompson. Thompson is based on the real life of Enoch L. Johnson, who was the political boss of AC during the 20s. Should be an interesting show that also has the character of my favorite gangster of all time, a young Lucky Luciano and also a young Al Capone.
And of course next Sunday the man who can throw a fastball faster than f**k is back. Can not wait for you Kenny Powers to return to my television set.

I will also like to congratulate Donnie Baseball on getting the job of manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers after Joe Torre steps down this season. I wish nothing but the best and hope for some Dodgers Yankees World Series to reign the sport once again. Without further ado here are my picks for Week 2

NFL Week Two Picks
Arizona (1-0) 13 at Atlanta (0-1) 27
I am expecting a HUGE game from Michal Turner. My man was bottled up all day last Sunday against an always tough Pittsburgh "D". I just have the feeling of a 120 yd. day with a TD. It's the home opener of the Falcons also, and i might add that Derek Anderson is the QB for the Cardinals.

Baltimore (1-0) 24 at Cincinnati (0-1) 17
Division games are always tough to chose. Cincinnati last year ran the table on their fellow North opponents to win the Division. I think this is the game that Baltimore had circled during the offseason. Monday night was an ugly win for the Ravens against the Jets but hey a win is a win in the NFL. And did you see that hit that Lewis put on Keller, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMLFVdfyJ30. Expect that all day Cincy. Cincy on the other hand recieved an butt whooping from the Patriots. Baltimore comes out and executes a little better on Offense and Rutgers Alum Ray Rice gets a 100 yd day.

Kansas City (1-0) 17 at Cleveland (0-1)10
Looks to be another long year for Cleveland. And now they don't even have LeBron to wait for next month. Did anyone watch the Kansas City crowd on Monday- no one was sitting down and they were screaming all night long. Honestly they played a huge part in that KC victory over SD. What surprise me the most in that game was how pumped up their D was. I like their attitude this year. And they might be the team that just seems to come out of nowhere each year. Should be a boring game in Cleveland this Sunday and I'm picking KC because I do not trust Jake Delhoumme. You will be hearing cries for Seneca Wallace soon.

Chicago (1-0) 13 at Dallas (0-1) 24
What can I say about this game. Dallas looked horrible in Washington and Chicago should've lost at home against Detroit. I'm going with the Home team is this game and Dallas gets its season on track in this game. Did you notice how often Tony Homo was passing it to the rookie Dez Byrant over his long time clutch guy Jason Witten. Possibly one of the many reasons why Dallas looked horrible last week. And for Forte- Keep it up my man, only one thing though when you get the ball 3 times on the 1-yd line, Punch that s**t in.

Philadelphia (0-1) 34 at Detroit (0-1) 17
Not only did that Detroit lost because of that no TD call on Calvin Johnson, The Heines lost also. But without that lost I wouldn't have been able to pick up Michael Vick who will be starting a NFL game for the 1st time since 2006. Shaun Hill will be starting at QB for the Lions and Philly's D gave Aaron Rodgers problems- I expect the same in this game. Philly played a brutal game last week against the Pack, losing Leanord Weaver and Jamal Jackson (who I feel really bad about because of the hard work he put in to rehab his knee to start week one) and the Pack lost Ryan Grant. Let's hope this does not continue. DJax gets a big play in this game and the D will return an INT to the house.

Buffalo (0-1) 6 at Green Bay (1-0) 41
Home opener for the Pack becomes a laughing stock. Aaron Rodgers has a huge day for his fantasy owners, while owners who picked up Jackson will gloat this week.

Pittsburgh (1-0) 17 at Tennessee (1-0) 10
Tough game to pick here. Tennessee just destroyed the Raiders last week while Pitt had a hard fought game that ended in OT against Atlanta. I think this is a Defensive game with Pitt coming out on top. The only question in this game to ask is, Will Chris Johnson's 100 yd. game streak come to an end. Pittsburgh's D will love to be the team to stop it and keep Barry Sanders record intact.

Miami (1-0) 9 at Minnesota (0-1) 24
Another tough one to pick even though I have Minney winning by a big margin. It's just that I love the Fins this season, but I don't see the Vikings falling into a 0-2 hole and they have the luxery of a a few extra days off and they are at home where the crowd will be loud.

Tampa Bay (1-0) 14 at Carolina (0-1) 28
Matt Moore what were you thinking last week with those horrible throws in the red zone? I think Carolina sticks to the run game in this one and control it from the start. I'm just hoping Josh Freeman does something, since he is my backup in Tiger's league behind Kolb.

Seattle (1-0) 10 at Denver (0-1) 17
Wow Seattle came to play last week against NFC west favorites San Fran. But a road game in Denver is going to be a test for the Seahawks. The Broncos almost came back last week. They also traded for L. Maroney from the Pats as an insurance policy in case Moreno goes down. I just like them at home in this game.

St. Louis (0-1) 7 at Oakland (0-1) 21
I have one thing to say to Bradford for this game- DO NOT THROW IN ASOMUGHA'S AREA. He is only the best cornerback in the game. Don't get me wrong, Revis Island is great but all this talk about him being the best there is in his position is crab. Last game Bradford looked good at some points, and in others he looked like the rookie he is. Looks like he has all the tools to be a good one in years to come. Oakland comes back from an embarrasment in Tennessee and shows the Black Hole faithful hope.

New England (1-0) 31 at New York Jets (0-1) 17
What an awful display of offense the Jets display on Monday night. This game is going to be a great one as is any game when you have two teams that hate each other. Jets need to rebound this week and I hope they do, but with the offense looking like that- they won't be able to keep up the Pats. 31 might be a little high against this D, but Belichick will love nothing more than to get a garbage TD at the end.

Jacksonville (1-0) 10 at San Diego (0-1) 28
San Diego wakes up and their offense starts to fly this week. Tough atmosphere they played in on Monday, a crazy crowd and rain to get with it. But they were still in it in the end to send the game into OT but just didn't capitalize.

Houston (1-0) 27 at Washington (1-0) 13
Didn't I tell you Houston is the real deal this season. I know I know its only one week, but to beat a team that always gets off to a fast start every season let alone a team that has beaten you 15 out of 16 times is a statement to be reckon with. They didn't just beat the Colts, they dominated them in the trenches. I think this is a tough match for #5 and the Skins, but I was very impressed with their D on Sunday against the Cowgirls. Thank god for that win or McNabb would've lost 3 straight games against them. I will like to thank my Birds for closing the gap for the Skins by trading Donovan to them. This is going to be a four team race in the NFC East this year.

New York Giants (1-0) 13 at Indianapolis (0-1) 34
Message for the Gmen, Peyton is pissed and he will throw at will against your Defense on Sunday night. Tough game for the Giants this week, especially being on the road. I just hope Peyton doesn't do much cause I'm going against him in fantasy, but how often to you see the Colts lose two in a row let alone start 0-2. By the end of Sunday night, all of the NFC East will be at 1-1. By the way I hate the Gmen, but it was nice to see Kenny Phillips back making some plays. Always liked him at the U and his season ending injury last season really hurt the Giants last year.

New Orleans (1-0) 28 at San Francisco (0-1) 24
When was the last time you thought if New Orleans scores 14 they can still win the game. I can't even remember when that happen. Good defensive game plan by Greg Williams against the Vikings. But also Vikings stopped giving the ball to ALL DAY and expected a 41 year old to carry them. Saints should've lost but when Brad Childress is the coach across from your sidelines, you have a shot. San Francisco, why even show up in Seattle if you are going to play like that. I think Singletary lights a fire on their asses this week and they play hard but fall short to Brees and Co.

So there you have it with my week 2 picks. See you next Friday. Remember to watch I Boardwalk Empire Sunday night on HBO. Giants fans DVR it.koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-86634644506639517682010-09-09T05:50:00.000-07:002010-09-09T08:06:32.820-07:00NFL Season and Fantasy Season PreviewI'm Baaaaaaack!!!

First off I will like to take the time to make up for lost time. A lot has happen since the last time I wrote the Blog. I will like to congratulate Sean and Noelle, who will be giving birth to their daughter sometime today. I can not wait to meet her. I wish you two nothing but the best. As for Jen and I we are expecting in February. It is at that point when it all starts becoming surreal. This past week has been the best week of my life, simply because of the YES i heard when I ask Jen to marry me. Words can not express the joy I felt. Big things to come in the year 2011!! But let's stick to 2010 and do a little Koeller's preview for the upcoming NFL/Fantasy season which begins tonight.

As all 5 of you know, I am a football fantasy junkie. I only really care about 2 leagues that I do. One is a league that Garland and I have been doing for 6 years. I remember the day when Garland came to me and ask me to partner up with him "so we can take these Old Guys money," this is how he describe it to me. Of course I couldn't refuse. Our team name is "Tiger", after Tiger Woods since he is so dominating in his sport we hoped it will translate to domination for us. First year was rough, but it is a 16 team leauge and you need a lil luck and waiver move savvy to compete in this league. Since then Tiger has been to 3 Super Bowls, only winning one but just making it that far year in and year out is an accomplishment in itself in fantasy. This year we had the 8th pick and our players are as follow in the order we picked 'em.
#1 RB- Michael Turner- don't expect 2008 numbers but i also don't expect last year's numbers either. Somewhere in the middle of the two is just fine with me.
#2 WR- Calvin Johnson- AKA Megatron- how can you not pick him with a name like that
#3 QB- Kevin Kolb- I know an Homey pick for me- He will have his struggles but we all know Reid likes to throw the football.
#4 RB- Felix Jones- I just expect him to stay healthy and have a breakout season this year
#5 WR- Wes Welker- Hopefully a steal this late in the draft if that knee holds up
#6 WR- Jeremy Maclin- To be honest, I love DJax we had him last year- but Maclin puts up bigger numbers this year than #10
#7 WR- Santonio Holmes- Needed a Buckeye for Garland's sake, but again a steal this late in the draft. He will be fresh coming out of a 4 week suspension.
#8 RB- Fred Jackson- Slim pickings here for RBs but he will be the one who score the TDs for the Bills when he returns.
#9 WR- Dexter McCluster- My Rookie sleeper out of KC. I think Weiss will have some things up his sleeve with this weapon out of Ole Miss.
#10 QB- Josh Freeman- Plays 'Zona in Kolb's bye week. To be honest there was no one else left.
#11 DB- Bernard Pollard- A league with Indivual Defense (1 DL, 1 LB, 1 DB) players instead of Team Defense. Houston is going to score in a hurry with that offense. So Pollard will be on the field making tackles.
#12 DL- Terrell Suggs- Listed as a DL in the league but plays like a LB. Expect a huge year from him.
#13 LB- DJ Williams- Quitely one of the best LBs in football out of Denver.
#14 TE- Jermaine Gresham- My sleeper of the year. Big rookie out of Oklahoma. With defenses concetrating on TO and #85 he will be a big red zone target for Carson Palmer.
#15 K- Dan Carpenter- Huge leg on this guy for the Fins.
#16 LB- Brian Cushing- Another suspended player but a safety net in case DJ Williams gets hurt. This guy can produce.

Now for the lineup in the league I run which is in it's 3rd year. I just basically copycatted the rules from Tiger's league and made my own, with the exception of it being 14 teams. My team name is "The Heines" and I had the 9th pick overall.
#1 RB Frank Gore- If healthy could possibly be the top back this year if Chris Johnson doesn't take the 2,500 season to heart.
#2 WR Calvin Johnson- Just a huge target for Sophmore QB Stafford
#3 QB Kevin Kolb- With him a Megatron on both my teams they need to produce
#4 RB Matt Forte- Had him on my team since his rookie year. Hoping he pull that year back instead of last year
#5 LB Patrick Willis- Just the baddest LB out there. Knew he wouldn't made it back to me so had to take him this high
#6 WR Jeremy Maclin- Hoping for the double dipper with Kolb as my QB
#7 WR Johnny Knox- Love the name. Hope Cutler can get him the ball.
#8 TE Chris Cooley- #5 loves his TEs, why will a new team change that.
#9 RB Arian Foster- A steal this late in the draft.
#10 DB Eric Berry- Hope he lives up to the hype
#11 K Garrett Hartley- NO Kicker, you know they will score in bunches and he will have his fair share of FGs and XPs to kick
#12 RB Donald Brown- Hoping for Addai to go down (Sorry Redskin Rampage) so he will become the starter
#13 QB Matt Hasselbeck- Just hope he is standing when Kolb is on his bye
#14 DL Ndamukong Suh- Again hope he lives up to the hype
#15 TE Jermaine Gresham- My sleeper have him on every team and real late too
#16 WR Jacoby Jones- I am just loving Houston this year for some reason and this will be the guy who gets the ball when the Beast Andre Johnson is doubled.

Let's get to some real Football with my predictions.
NFC East
#1- Dallas Cowboys (11-5)- HATE HATE this pick
#2- Philadelphia Eagles (10-6)- Tough schedule for the NFC East. I hope the Eagles got it right letting McNabb go. And as much as I hate to say it, I think they did.
#3- New York Giants (10-6)- Kenny Phillips back and the pickup of Rolle is going to help not only the secondary but also the D-line.
#4- Washington Redskins (8-8)- Just too many holes. Mcnabb is right back where he started with Philly- NO RECEIVERS.

NFC North
#1- Green Bay Packers (13-3)- Loving this team. Could possibly win it all.
#2- Minnesota Vikings (10-6)- Favre goes down. Jackson steps in at some point in the season.
#3- Detroit Lions (7-9)- They need to start winning at some point right??
#4- Chicago Bears (6-10)- Last year of Lovie Smith. And Cutler just might get murdered after his first 4 INT game of the season.

NFC South
#1- Atlanta Falcons (12-4)- Really like this team this year. Quitely put together one of the best Linebacker cores in the league. And guess what they are young and will be there for sometime.
#2- New Orleans Saints (11-5)- I see a drop off this year but still make the playoffs as a wild card.
#3- Carolina Panthers (9-7)- They are going to be a tough out week in and week out, but when it comes down to the 4th quarter do you really trust Matt Moore for the all season.
#4- Tampa Bay Buccaners (4-12)- Goodbye Maurice Morris.

NFC West
#1- San Francisco 49ers (10-6)- Should run the table in this very weak division.
#2- Seattle Seahawks (7-9)- New regime, but still need some rebuilding.
#3- Arizona Cardinals (7-9)- Do you really trust Derek Anderson. The Buffalo Bills select Jake Locker QB Washington.

AFC North
#1- Baltimore Ravens (12-4)- Defense will slip a little but they finally have a dominating offense. So read this and wait to next year. Some things that has happen in this past year. Jen & I have moved out of Oakwood. Freaking punks wanted to jack up our rent $230 a month. We now live in Parsippany and the commute to work is fantastic. I also started up school again, attending Anthem Institute (used to be Chubb) for a computer networking degree. I'm four courses deep and doing great. We technically have a new cat although he is not allow inside. I named him Max, and he likes to hang out on our patio. And of course we feed him. Jen is amazing with cats, Jennifer Love Hewitt can talk to ghosts, well Jen can talk to cats. I'm convinced. Now to some topics.

Lost
What the hell is going on with this show. This show was awesome and now it just seems so far fetched to tie in some loose ends this final season. I've been greatly disappointed. So now the point is to keep this guy on the island or all hell will break loose. I think they are saving something up for Jack- I mean he has been non-existent this season other than the Lighthouse episode. My favorite character now is a robot, apparently has no feelings whatsoever. Come on Sayid wake up man. Only time will tell.

NCAA tourney
This Tournament has been amazing. A big disappointment for the Big East though, but at least West Virginia still has a shot. I had no Final Four teams pick correctly. Mine were Kansas, 'Cuse, Kentucky, and Baylor. Probably the greatest game so far was Xavior and Kansas St. The way both teams were shooting in the clutch was just insane. Obviously the biggest upset will have to go to Northern Iowa beating Kansas. Very well played game from the corn farmers of Iowa, they lead the entire game but for 40 something Seconds against a team that everyone thought was the best in the country. 'Cuse had a great season but faltered at the end, losing the final regular season game to Louisville and losing to their rival G'town in the Big East tourney. But all seemed right on the first weekend of the dance until they hit Butler. I hope Butler can pull the upset again against State. Speaking of State, it is amazing that Tom Izzo has been to the Final four 6 times in the past 12 seasons. Let's hope for a great Final Four this weekend.

McNabb
As you all know I have been a McNabb supporter since day one. Loved the draft pick at the time. The guy has taken his team to the NFC championship 5 times, but only winning one and then losing that Super Bowl against the Patriots. I'm kinda torned here, cause we know the Eagles don't care what you have done in the past. If they think you are done then they'll cut you loose, i.e. Dawkins (huge disappoinment from the organization to let him go) and Westbrook. I will hate to see #5 go but I'm also interested to see Kolb. Everytime I think of McNabb going I can't help but think of John Elway. This guy lost 3 super bowls before winning back to back Super Bowls to end his career. Denver respected the hell out his guy, why can't Philly give McNabb the same respect. He is nothing but a class act, except those goofy dances that he does. I honestly believe that he can get the Eagles the Super Bowl. As the talks are now, it seems that he will end up in Oakland. That's like saying thanks Donovan for a great 10 years, we will like to thank you by sending you to the Sea Monster (Bill Simmons nickname for Al Davis). I'm just hoping that he stays and wins it all this year then we can go to Kolb.

that's it for now till next year.koelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1285521628760710460.post-91075249531877496162009-03-06T10:50:00.000-08:002009-03-25T10:50:27.557-07:00WelcomeFirst off, I will like to thank Mr. Gary Baker for inspiring me to write a blog. It just seems like a good idea to write and discuss certain things. I am not a writer by any means, so there will be grammatical errors throughout this blog. I apologize early for these grammer mistakes. So, let's start by writing a lil about by myself.

My name is Christopher William Koeller and I am 29 years old. I finally moved out of my mother's house and got a place with my lovely girlfriend Jennifer. It's been a couple of weeks and things have been great. We moved into Oakwood Village. I know, I know- not much a move for me since this is the same development I have been living in since I was 7 years old. It's great to come home to someone you love every night. Jen is from Clifton, so she is adjusting to the area. I think she likes it, but hates the fact that you have to drive around to get places. Where in Clifton, literally everything is 5 minutes away. We have been with each other for 2 years now, so this is a big step in our relationship. I considered myself the luckiest man to be with someone so caring and thoughtful.

I will considered my hobbies as watching sports, playing PlayStation, and of course TV shows and movies. Not really hobbies but these are things i do during my spare time. My favorite sport is football. The Philadelphia Eagles are my team. I have had a lot of heartache this past decade with some big games, but at least they are in it- unlike some other teams. I will have to go with baseball as my 2nd fav. Nothing like going to the ballpark (especially what was Yankee stadium) on a warm/hot day rooting for the Yankees. I used to LOVE basketball growing up, and loved the Utah jazz when the Stockton to Malone pick and roll was their trademark. I have to say i have lost interest after they retired, probably because i always said the knicks will be my team when those two are done. That pretty much states it all, since new york has been sort of a laughing stock for a few years (thanks to Isiah). I have fallen in love with Liverpool. The only reason why i became a Liverpool fan was because of the performance Michael Owen put in the 1998 World Cup. He just happen to be on Liverpool at the time. I will probably be writing a lot about sports in this blog because i love the competition and the possibility of seeing something that has never happen before.

That's about it for now.

Thanks for stopping by
I'll try to write regularly, and please feel free to comment.

Till next time,
CKkoelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02489451651163274113noreply@blogger.com4
